       Child Century of War
       Child Century of War is a heart-moving documentary about
       children across the world stuck in the middle of war.
       This documentary made me feel sad, upset, devastated, angry,
       hurt, horror and scared of what people are capable of. I think I
       felt like this because I am shocked to find out how people could
       treat children this way! The children were treated horribly -
       they were taken away from their homes and their lives. Then,
       they were either left abandoned and orphaned, or they were
       injured (emotionally, menatlly and physically) or were given
       guns, knives and drugs and forced to fight ina batlle they
       wanted no part of.
       I would like to see many changes in the next year, but one big
       change - LESS WAR! I think this is possible if we all try. Also,
       children need more love, care, support and respect. We can
       achieve this if we put our minds to it. Countries across the
       world need to cooperate and work together.
       Human evolution is supposedly "for the better" but personally I
       don't see why. Hunter-Gatheres, the San, the Aborigines, etc. -
       they all worked together and lived in peace and harmony.
       Basically our mind has evolved to think that each one of us can
       have it all, that each one of us is the best. This is not true.
       I want changes to happen, and quickly.
       The people that can ensure these changes happen are; each one of
       us, governments, armies, kings and queens - people with a higher
       standard of living that can influence other people to do the
       right thing.
       What I have learnt from this documentary is; life is precious,
       family is precious. We must protect both because, one day, both
       will perish. Unfortunately, there are people living without
       family, without love, care, support and respect. We need to put
       an end to abuse and neglect.
       I feel sorry for those children who will never have their
       mother’s arms around them, for those children whose families
       have perished. War is horrible and we need to stop it!
       All of us can do a little bit to help. Just a little bit can go
       along way if we each try. We need to strive for the same goal:
       peace, harmony and, above all, love. I believe we can achieve
       it!
       I think I have changed as a person. I am now more aware to what
       is happening around me. I feel sympathy but I also feel guilty.
       Here I am, with family, friends, a comfortable home, enough
       food, a safe school, a safe neighbourhood and I am loved,
       supported and cared for. I really do appreciate all of this, but
       still, I sometimes complain. We all complain sometimes in our
       lives and moan about our problems. Sometimes we all just need to
       take a step back. Our lives are like royalty in contrast to
       those who have suffered in war and lost loved ones because of
       it. We could all be a bit more grateful and appreciate something
       a bit more than we already do.
       So what I am trying to say is, appreciate your life, and your
       family and put an end to war.
