       The Bonnie Has Sold

My 1976 Cafe Raced Bonnie has a new home having waved it off
yesterday. Now...what shall I get, I still realy fancy a light
1960's Tiger 100, probably to make into a Desert Racer Style.
heh heh bring the comments on...

You want a proper desert racer, then don't start with a poxy
Triumph. Check out your Emails - its my old bike you never saw!
I can't send piccies on this set up!!!!

Yer mean this eh, took me ages to remember how to do it, I blame
covid. Click on pic to enlarge
In spite of the Norton tank (which was the wrong one), this was
       a true desert hy-brid.
Norton Atlas 750 engine, in a matchless frame (not the
feather-bed, that would never do) with low ratio box (worked far
better than relying on sprockets etc.) and floppy forks from God
       knows where.
Would stand on the back wheel anytime and climb any sand dune
you put in front of it. However, so low ratio could pull other
competitors out of quicksand, but top speed flat out only about
65 (not much use on a motorway).
Not bad for a non Triumph

Best bike I ever had, and certainly the only one that won a best
in show thingy! But it still didn't have a roof and a heater
(not that it needed it in the desert).
