The medicine trainee hadn't meant to leave. The truth was, he
hadn't 'left'. Left implies choice, and never would he choose to
leave his home. He had been out near the border, he remembered
that clearly. It had been a decent day. Nothing very bad had
happened, he had even started to develop a crush on Neptune. The
very thought of the tabby deputy made him grin like a madman.
Shot of Hunter's Gun, or Gunshot, as he preferred, was looking
forward to seeing the handsome tom again.
Back to the day about a moon earlier. Glancing up, the red tabby
was surprised to see a DevilClan cat. Fallingpaw, he thought the
name was. He had asked the fawn point what his business was on
Tribe territory, you know, all that stuff. The apprentice has
replied with force.
If he had only learned to fight. He had been a warrior
apprentice before a medic one, but once he changed positions his
skills had started to grow rusty. Besides, the attack had come
on his blind side. The DevilClanner had taken, just as he had
many other cats. Fallingpaw seemed to enjoy hurting living
creatures.
They hadn't even made it to DevilClan. A simple badger attack
had taken out Fallingpaw, and while the beast was busy with the
tom, Gunshot had made a run for it. He had managed to escape,
yes, but he had gotten lost. In the following weeks he had come
close to giving up, letting himself die. Then he remembered
Neptune and the Tribe and knew he had to keep going.
It had been hard. Now he was scrawnier then ever, covered with
cuts. But he had returned. He had returned and never would he
leave again. Glancing around, reveling in the sights of his
home, the red tabby felt a surge of joy. Cracking open his now
scarred maw, he let lose a bellow.
"FLOWERTRIBE! I'M BACK!"

Destiny saw Gunshot and it immediately made her think of
Neptune. And how he died. She knew Gunshot probably wouldn't
take it well. But, not wanting to be the one to tell him, she
backed into the den, trying to hide.

Saturnpaw, the reincarnation of the deceased deputy Neptune,
fixed the long-lost medicine cat in his coppery gaze. Wow! He
was attractive!

It had been a bumpy road ever since the tom had 'left' the
tribe. Neptune died of an unknown cause, and Sakura went missing
for the same reason. Night had to take it upon herself to keep
the tribe running, and that meant drastic changes. Some of the
changes were easy to adjust to, while others were hard to get
used to - especially with the former medicine cat.
She had declared a meeting, told everyone the horrible news. She
spoke of demotions and promotions, one of them bringing her up
to leader and Rapidpaw up to head medicine cat. She even gave
Dawn a second chance at medicine cat, though the Egyptian mau
could see that the pregnant mca was going to have a little
trouble with her activity.
The new leader strode to the scarred tom and attempted to rest
her head on the ex-mca's head, a small smile on her face.
"Gunshot! We missed you so much." she purred to him, the tip of
her tail lashing. He looked to skinny for his own good, and she
was sorry to even think it was sickening to look at. She brought
her gaze to Saturnpaw. Haven't seen him around, but she guessed
he had been in the Clan all along.
"Saturnpaw, can you get a ball of moss with water in it for
Gunshot?" Breaking Dishes all Night asked the apprentice,
unaware that he was the past deputy.

The caramel tabby have a quick nod of his head before running
off. Shot of Hunter's Gun seemed familiar...Huh. Maybe he looked
like somebody he knew. Rolling his shoulders in a shrug, he came
back with drenched moss.

Spotted Path soon joined the grouping crowd. It was always
awesome when someone came back to the tribe! Starclan knows this
little group needed it.

Three faces and only one of them he could really call familiar.
"I've missed you too, Night," the one eyed tom purred, grinning
at his former mentor. Neptune wasn't there but the tom was sure
they would see each other soon, and how he was looking forward
to the reunion. "How is everyone?" More to the point, how was
Neptune, but he didn't want to ask about the dead deputy yet.
Didn't want to single him out. He had already had his heart
broken by Hysteria and it had been difficult to get over--if
Neptune didn't feel the same way, Gunshot didn't need everyone
knowing about it.

Ah. Neptune. The young cat had heard tales about the deceased
deputy. "Neptune's dead." He said bluntly, unaware of Gunshot's
feelings.

"Most of us are adjusting to the new ways." she murmured, tail
continuing to flick as she tried to find ways to put it. "I'm
leader now, and Spotted Path here is deputy since Sakura is
missing and Neptune is dead.." she trailed off, looking down at
the ground. "And I was forced to demote you since you went
missing, but you can return as a messager." she snapped her gaze
over to Saturnpaw, eyes narrowed as she glared at the tom.
[b]"There's no need to be so blunt."

scolded him. "Sorry." replied the apprentice.
