She gave each of her children a lick on the head. "The next time
I see you, you should be early apprentices. Lets just hope Daddy
or Momma doesn't hold any of you back just for the fact of being
scared that you're growing up." a tear left the white female's
eye as she stood straight up. She brought her misty eyes back to
Coalstar, then attempted to nuzzle his cheek again. "I'll miss
you, Love." she flicked the tip of her tail. "But, I just want
to come to the agreement that me being in FrozenClan should not
change your opinion on it. Though, I don't think it would." she
was still down on herself. "And, we both know that the kits will
brag on who their father is, so don't be afraid when Icestar
assumes that you... Er..." Decembersnow didn't want to say such
a word around her children. "You know. And I can't say anything
about you being my loving and handsome mate, or else I'll be
demoted..."
The medic just noticed how selfish she sounded, though she
couldn't take any of that back. It was all true. She didn't want
to be demoted. And, even if she was, she didn't want to be
exiled for loving the enemy. She honestly preferred the iceland
instead of the desert. "I'm sorry, Coalstar. But it has to be
this way." she looked away from his eyes, not wanting to see the
anger, hurt, or any other negative feeling he could have hidden
deep within them.

Coalstar returned the nuzzle with another of his, feeling now
that he had been taking all their time together, here, for
granted. Now he realized how deep their love had gone, and he
had to keep clearing his throat and blinking his green orbs to
keep back from tearing up. The AshClan leader wasn't going to
cry now, not in front of his kits at least. Sure now that he had
a family, most of his selfishness drained away when he was with
them. But he was still the leader of one of the toughest Clans,
he still had a reputation to keep, and he was still prideful.
But no matter what, he'd stay loyal to his mate whether she left
or not. Whether another came into his life, he block them away.
He was giving his all to this one female, and her kits.
As she spoke he nodded to most of her sentences, locking each
word in his heart even if it wasn't that important. But
everything was important now. To him. But for some reason he
stopped to think. Why was he doing this? Why was he about to cry
in front of the enemy Clan medicine cat? Under all that anger
and pride and selfishness, Coalstar never though he'd fall in
love, though it was much more possible than it seemed. Becoming
mates with Decembersnow kind of humbled his heart when he was
with her. Now he had to trust she would love him forever,
wherever she is.
"It's alright. I'm not upset with you." Coalstar murmured,
pressing his large head against her slim neck. He was saying it
her, but to himself as well. Though he still felt hurt inside,
he wanted her to be happy. I guess that's what love is.
Happiness? Probably, but sacrifice was a big part of love.
Letting someone go was a sacrifice. "Don't be sorry. It was my
fault you were kept back from your duty." The big male
hesitated, shocked to hear those words come out of his mouth. As
he began to speak again, his voice was shaky but still deep.
"Now get out of here. I want to see you smiling at the
gathering, ya hear me? And those handsome kits too." He stepped
back after sliding his tongue of her ear. "I love you, Deccy."
He breathed shamelessly.

Decembersnow accepted his affection with a whimper, a few tears
from her eyes. She pulled away from the tom she loved and stood
tall. "I will smile my heart out when I see you and my other
three lovelies again." she informed the leader, tail flicking
back and forth as she attempted to grab a hold of four of their
kits. "I'll miss you all." she mewed one last time before
attempting to leave, eyes trained on the ground in front of her.

Dwarfy was being pulled by his mother and he whimpered, "momma!
I d-don't want to leave!" He didn't even know where they were
going. But, the short-haired tom sniffled anyway.

Echoingkit wanted to know what was happening. She had been just
sitting alone, until she saw we mom leaving. "Momma?" she asked.
She had heard that she'd be leaving. "You'll come back for us
too, right?" she whimpered.
