The almost-completely white female winced at the thought, but
she had to go. Her Clan needed her. Her apprentices needed her.
Everyone there needed her. She sighed and looked over the
desert. She was going to miss this place - she was going to miss
her mate as well. But this had to be done. She would leave some
of her kits here, for her mate to remember her by. But some
would come with her, so she would have an excuse for being out
for so long.

flattening his ears. Where was mommy going?

Coalstar slowly traveled towards Decembersnow , slight confusion
easily reflecting off of his gray tabby face. What was she
doing? He took the emotions from her face and put it together.
He had been getting closer to his mate since she had stayed in
the Clan for a while, so it wasn't to hard to figure it out. She
was leaving. Mixed feelings swirled around in his brain. Anger
and frustration, but also guilt. The medicine cat had been kept
here away from her beloved snowy home because of him. Sure, she
wasn't really considered a prisoner by him, hopefully she had
felt comfortable in the desert with him, but Coalstar knew it
was her duty to serve her Clan. Whether he hated every one of
the FrozenClanners or not, Coal deeply respected her decision.
But he was going her miss her. A lot. The heavy tom slid beside
Decembersnow, his rough side rubbing against the pure white fur
of the medicine cat, though he avoided looking at her icy eyes.
Polarkit followed the white tail of his mother, trying his best
not to lose sight of the one he was most comfortable with.
Polarkit, though a male, was definitely one to cling to his
momma. He would defend her with his life as he grew older.

Dwarfedkit slowly trudged next to his father and tipped his
head, looking confused. Was he saying good-bye? Why? And where
was Polarkit going?

Little Winterkit trotted over to her mother's side, staring up
at her two parent's side. The fluffy kitten, with all honesty,
wanted to be with her daddy. But she wanted to see the frozen
winterland that her mother was accustomed to.
Decembersnow bit back a sob. She didn't want to leave her mate,
because she loved him and because of the fear that he might find
another. The blue-eyed female also refused to look at Coalstar.
"I'm sorry, Coalstar. But I have to go." she whispered, hanging
her head. "Some of the kits are staying here, that means I put
all my trust into you taking good care of them." she whispered,
taking a few steps forward. "Just so you know, that's
Echoingkit, Dwarfedkit, Witchkit. Heartkit, Polarkit, Winterkit,
and Juicekit are coming with me." she looked down at her paws.
Even explaining hurt her. She stood on her toes, giving his
cheek a nuzzle. "I'll see you in meetings, love. And I'll miss
you till then."

Going with her? Where is she going?! The soon to be named in the
future Dwarfedmutt flattened his ears and tipped his head,
lookin gup at his father. What was happening? Why did no one
tell the runt?! Dwarfedkit harrumphed and looked sadly at his
mother, nostrils flared. The least they could lsay was what was
happening!

The female then bent down to looked at her children in their
eyes. "Oh, my sweet babies. Momma has to go home now." she mewed
with a calm, soothing voice.

"No, it isn't." she whispered. "Momma was born in FrozenClan.
Momma is a medic in FrozenClan." she didn't want to tell them
the whole truth.

why was she living here?
