Angel limped forward, the rain dripping. In the protection of a
tree with very heavy foliage, she looked up.
The dark sky was dashed with lightning for a split second, where
she watched. The ivory kitten looked back down, at a puddle. In
it, she could see her parents behind her. Smiling, she tried to
lean into her mother.
However, since they were ghosts, she couldn't. Only went
through.
Gasping for a split second, the kitten blinked. Her ears fell
back and she started to cry. Her mother, a white cat with a few
spots of black on her tail and green eyes, raised her paw as if
to comfort her daughter. Angel's father, a mostly black cat with
white spots and blue eyes, looked worried and tried to wrap his
tail around his daughters'.
Sobbing into the puddle, Angel smashed her paw through the
surface of it and whimpered.
"Please, just go away! Please, please... please..."
Curling her tail around her twisted leg, the white kitten turned
off her power and held her right foreleg over her eyes. Ears
back, sadness overtook her and she sniffled.
Getting up, the ivory kitten looked up, then back to camp. She
loved Rebelclan- that was why she had to leave, right?
Couldn't get them hurt even more, right?
But..
They had shown such compassion, such kindness...
Blinking, she felt herself be thrown into a reverie of images.
Seeing Shootingstar, seeing the warrior that helped her and
Tigerpaw. Meeting Fallingpaw, seeing him holding the injured
kitten and moving the dead adult forward.
Meeting Beet.
She couldn't afford for any of them to get hurt, she just
couldn't! No, it was all her fault. The warning by that cat,
Dracula, was it?
It was too much. She couldn't do it, couldn't stay. Murder.
Killing. Torture. The APOCALYPSE!
All because she refused to leave.
Now, there was no specific reason why that had been her fault.
No reasoning behind it.
Looking out into loner territory, the kitten stood up. Debating
with herself.
There was no way she could survive out there. But...
Maybe that was better for everyone? Better for Shootingstar, for
the others.
Looking back to camp, the snow-white kitten thought about that
way, too.
If she went back, then horror would come. It would come like a
plague, taking lives and memories, and happiness, left and
right.
A single tear trickled down her cheek. What to do?
Turning back to the tree, she noticed a small hollow in the
bottom of it. Diving in, she curled up and thought. Darkness
enveloped her, her pale figure visible in the shadiness. No
details were able to be seen as she looked at the light of the
storm outside.
Which way would she go? This would change her life. Possibly
forever.
Which way?
"Oh, angels.. Tell me which way to go. Which way will keep my
friends safe? Which way?"
