wasn't around as much as the other two, and another was ready to
become a full medicine cat. But she would still be the main
medicine cat.

Gunshot clambered up, fixing his one eye on his mentor. He had
no idea what the meeting was about but wouldn't be surprised if
he was demoted; the red tabby wasn't the most active.

Night sat down calmly. "We have a problem here. One cat in the
medicine department hasn't been as active as the others, and I'm
not appreciating it. Dawn, I'm sorry to say you're demoted." she
sighed and continued on. "Even though my other apprentices
haven't been as active as well but more active than Dawn, they
will not be demoted." she turned her gaze to Gunshot. "I'm going
to test you're knowledge on herbs and, if you get most of it
right, you will be promoted."

The one-eyed tom glanced around for Dawn to offer his apologies;
demotions were always upsetting. Hearing his name, Gunshot's
eyes snapped back to Night. She really thought he might be
ready?! He nodded, surprised.

his crush/mate was demoted. sure, she hadn't been around as
much, but he still couldn't help but feel bad. his ears
flickered as he heard gunshot was being promoted.
i'll make sure to train even harder. i want to be just as good
as gunshot. the brown and white tom thought with a slight nod to
