wherefore art thou // joining

Romeo hadn't meant to show up here, but with the fact that he
smelled the scent of what couldn't be anything but a Clan, he
had decided to stay. Sure, his skill in hunting was rather
useless now as he'd been living with some humans for the longest
time, but now, he much rather would be here. He'd clawed off the
collar before venturing into the woods and searching for the
Clan he knew must be here somewhere.

"Ow..owww," a disgruntled Wick said, groaning and cradling his
weak paw. He tripped over a stupid root and now his prey is
gone. It was embarrassing, but at least no one was around to
see. He gave his foot a comforting lick or two, his pain keeping
him distracted from the new scent lingering. Of course, there
were new scents everyday. They hadn't established a permanent
border so animals wandered with no idea who's place they were
stepping on.
A random noise caused him to stop immediately and sit up, ears
flicking to every sound around him. He sniffed the air and
realized someone was way closer than he was comfortable. He
growled under his breath and followed the scent until he reached
a young adventuring tom. "Hey. Hey, who are you? What do you
want?"

indigo had noticed the stranger as well, but hadn't the
slightest intention of pursuing him until wick made a move
first. his less-than-friendly growl made the gray tom feel a
twinge of sorrow for the unknowing intruder, and he padded
towards the two to make sure nothing too crazy happened. he
wouldn't say anything; he didn't want to get his ear ripped off.
but he would be there for..moral support? indigo offered the
stranger a forced smile.

"Who am I?" he repeated, almost indignant at the other not
knowing his name. "Romeo, of course. I'm here to join your
ragtag group of vagabonds! I assume that you'll accept me
graciously!" the ginger tom continued with a charming grin,
annoyance disappearing as if it had never even been there in the
first place.

Wick flattened his ears at Romeo's grating enthusiasm. He felt
immediate distrust towards this performer, and just plain
annoyance. He let out a huff through his nose as he prepared
himself for another unpleasant encounter. "Romeo? Nope, doesn't
ring a bell." he said quite flatly. He sat down, letting several
moments of silence sink in before answering. "Graciously is an
overstatement, but I can't refuse, I'm afraid. Our ragtag group
is rather soft. Too trusting of strangers. So please! Make
yourself at home. Everyone else has." He might have rolled his
eyes at the last word.

He let the annoyance slip by him, ignoring it in favor of
accepting the others offer. "I will do so joyously! Thank you
very much for your hospitality, kind sir." Kind was an
overstatement in his opinion, but he wouldn't be rude to the
other, as it was his home, and Romeo was the one joining. He
turned his attention to Indigo and gave a grin in his direction,
asking, "And who might you be?"
