When Hal had come here, he hadn't been expecting the vague
outline of a Clan. Maybe a few people here and there, but not
the setup for an organized place like he'd first been in. Then
again, none of the Clans he'd seen had been able to match
RainClan, at least in his opinion. Maybe he was being a bit
harsh? Even if he wasn't, it's not like he would tell them that.
The kitten stopped walking for a moment, taking a glance around
as to familiarize himself with the area. After he was a bit more
comfortable, the big-eyed kitten called out, "H-h-hello? Is
any-anybody out-out there?" Hopefully they would take him
seriously despite him being an actual child, not to mention the
stutter and nervousness that made him seem even more childlike.

"Yeah," a gravelly, kind of annoying voice spoke. Wick stalked
over with a frown, though with slight hesitation with one of his
legs. He didn't like kits, and he probably could've walked by
without the squirt catching sight of him. However, he wasn't a
complete jerk. Leaving the little ankle-biter alone in the wild
was cruel even for him. And he supposed confronting intruders
was apart of his job anyway, apparently.
"What are you doing here, kid? Looking for mommy?"

"I would hope that his mommy wouldn't leave him behind like
this," Scratch approached behind Wick who, despite his agitation
with everything, was one of her favorites in the... group so
far. He gave an extra oomph of character to them all, "I mean,
unless he's a... a runt, so to say," she continued, looking away
from the both of them. Not out of pain, but out of awkwardness.
She then, for once, kept silent, waiting for the kids response.

He was rather offended by the suggestion, but pushed it aside.
It wasn't like he would speak up for himself, he had never been
good at doing that. "N-n-no, I'm not. I heard tha-that a Clan
was forming he-here and I thought I'd come check, check it out.
And I'm no-not a runt, thank you ve-very much." Hal huffed,
looking to the side for a moment before returning his gaze to
them. "I'm Hal- Hal... Just c-call me Hal," he responded,
getting annoyed and giving up on giving his whole name. One
thing that sucked about this new life was his stutter having
become much worse. Maybe if someone he knew showed up, they
could introduce him instead, but he wasn't even sure who was
alive.

"Heard?" Wick thought out loud. He narrowed his eyes at this
child who somehow heard rumors and found the clan on his own.
Either kids were smarter than he gave them credit for, or
something was up. He peered at the surrounding area before
turning back to the skinny black kit stumbling through his
words. "Alright..Hal. Why are you alone?"

"Like-like I said, I want-wanted to c-co-come find this place,"
he reiterated. "My-my family didn't so I ca-came alone." That
was all there was to it. Besides, they weren't his real family,
at least in his opinion. He barely knew them, as opposed to
those who had been his family before this.

"Hm." He wasn't totally buying it, but he supposed the kit
wasn't a really danger to anyone on his own. Wick didn't smell
or see anything else around, so he assumed he was alone. "Okay,
you pass, I guess," he said with shrug. "Welcome to our..er,
clan. I'm Wick, this is Scratch." He gave a subtle gesture with
his tail.

Great, that worked out better than he expected, to be honest.
"It's-it's nice to meet-meet you t-t-two," Hal responded, giving
a little smile to Wick and Scratch in return. He didn't want to
keep this going to long, as he really would have preferred to go
find some place to take a nap. Sure, he was more mature than
they were giving him credit for, but he was still a kitten, and
he still wanted to get some sleep.

"Yeah, sure, my pleasure," Wick said less than pleasurably. Ah,
yes. An annoying kit running around their clan that was
literally only holding onto a dream. It would make things a
little more exciting, he supposed. "We've got a little camp set
up not far from here. Follow me." He turned and led the way
without waiting for an answer.

Hal quickly followed the other, letting thoughts wander through
his mind as he did so. He pushed them away and focused on where
he was going when he nearly stumbled over a loose stone,
ignoring his embarrassment in favor of simply finding his way to
the camp.
