Charlie had joined the group earlier, but walked in the back,
saying nothing. He was thinking about what they were saying, or
what he should say. A Clan? "I can't say I know much about the
Clans," he began finally, once the conversation came to a pause.
"but I don't think we should follow their ways too closely. I
think we need to come up with our own customs and rules. After
all, if their system was as flawed as some of us think it was,
then it's definitely best to start fresh, y'know?" he finished
with a shrug. "If that makes sense, anyway. We also need to
consider how we're going to get enough cats to even split into
Clans. We have what, seven or something cats living around here?
That's not enough to split, yet."

"I think you're'a definite candidate, Abysma," Scratch purred,
puffing out her chest, "And Tigger, too! Y'all are all grown up
and cool and stuff," she continued. Charlie caught her attention
and she nodded along, all the way until he mentioned splitting
       up.
"I don't see why we would have to split up at all?" she said,
confused, "We're tryna make one Clan, not many. Like you said
yourself, Charlie, we don't have enough for multiple Clans, plus
we barely know what we're doing to begin with," she paused,
looking at the others to see if they agreed. She then looked
back at him, "I do agree with making our own rules, considering
we barely know their old ones. I think. Abysma?" she turned to
the girl to see if she knew any of the former rules

Abysma nodded along to the conversation, listening in as they
all gave their input. "And you and Charlie could possibly be
candidates as well. Maybe we should also come up with a name for
our Clan? That way, we have a way to tell others who we are. And
setting borders would be a great idea. Then we can decide on
other things at a later point, once we have that all set up.
Sound good?" Hopefully they'd agree with the things she was
saying, as she thought it was a good idea.

indigo's whiskers twitched as the others discussed leadership
and whatnot. didn't their little group function just fine
without a leader? there were obviously those more willing to
take charge than others, but the gray tabby wondered if a
singular leader was even necessary. if two strong personalities
ended up clashing, there could be trouble. he'd already spread
enough negativity for now though, so he kept quiet for the most
part. "we've explored the area pretty well, haven't we? do you
have any ideas for where the borders should be?" he asked, not
to anyone in particular. he'd rather let the decisions be made
by someone else, someone who needed to feel like they were in
control. indigo had never been much of a control freak himself,
but he found it more pleasant to be around such cats when things
       were going their way.

"Sounds good to me, Absyma," Tigger said with a shrug. He was
just fine with leaving the rules until later, even though they
were still important. He instead set his mind to where the
borders would be set since he wasn't very creative when it came
       to names.
Then Indigo made his point, which caused his mind to fill with
the parts of the territories they had explored. "How about we
set a marker past the creek to the west of us? The water will be
like a wall if intruders can't get across. And we should make a
border to separate us the town and the farm. So the river there
can be our southern border. How does that sound?" he asked
everyone, waiting for either a challenge or agreement. "Where to
put the north and east borders, though? I'm not sure..."

Charlie nodded, quietly listening again. He didn't say anything
about it just being one Clan, because he hadn't heard about that
yet. He always assumed they would split up, but he supposed it
would be better for them to form one Clan instead, beings there
       wasn't many cats.
He agreed again with the border arrangements, but another
question formed in his mind. "The old Clans had ranks. You did
mention this earlier, I think, but we never got specific about
it," he said, lifting his chin ever so slightly. "Do we plan on
keeping the same ranks as them? What was it, leader,
medicine-something, and then warriors and what-not? Or are we
gonna make our own ranks, or change the names of them?
