just a young gun with a quick fuse | p, stormy (introducing the
       clans)

She went by many names, but Alani was what her mother called
her. She said that it meant 'orange tree' in a human language.
The ginger tabby felt like it fit her well.
The young she-cat loved her mother dearly. She grew up listening
to stories of her ancestors, which always fascinated her, even
though her older brother thought it was boring and fake. Alani
knew it was real. She knew that the Clans of the past were still
out there, and she knew that her great, great, great grandmother
Mazey was encouraging her to go find them. Every moment she
could see the signs, in plants, in the clouds, in the stars; her
brother told her she was going crazy, but she knew she could see
it. She knew she wanted to go find the Clans, and be among their
ranks. And that's why she left.
Her mother was supportive, but her brother was skeptical. She
had told her to go for it, fulfill her dreams. He told her that
she had bees in her brain, and was just gonna get killed out
there. But when had she ever listened to a word he said?
Alani had been traveling for days, using some skills that her
mother had taught her. She had said that the fighting moves had
come from the Clans themselves, so she practiced them. A pounce,
and a swipe, and a pitiful roll. Any cat would think she was
playing like a kitten, but in her heart and in her mind, she was
a Clan cat, defending her territory from the evil Fly cat of
DevilClan [sup](hissingstar)[/sup] that had many kittens.
Sometimes she ate plants too. They made her sick sometimes, but
she had liked to think she was a healer cat, like the
Fruitflight [sup](berryflight)[/sup] from the Moon Tribe! ..or,
whatever it was called. Her mother reminded her many times that
those might not have been the real names of cats or groups,
because the story has been changed many times, but she didn't
mind. A purr rumbled in her throat as she made her way, thinking
of all the cats she could meet.
It didn't take her more than a few days to find the forest. The
cat scents were strong here, fading slightly, but she knew that
cats were living here. Were they the Clans? Would they be
friendly? With a bounce in her step, the young cat made her way
into the forest, eyes round as she looked at her surroundings.

Absyma, despite thinking it was a good idea to stick together,
was kind of getting sick of having constant company. Growing up,
she'd been mostly alone with only the stories her father had
told her as a kitten to guide her. That was how she'd survived
so long after he died, when she was still... well, if the
stories were true, she'd have been an 'apprentice' at the time.
The stories she'd been told were interesting, to say the least.
She wasn't sure how truth they were, but they found comfort in
them nonetheless. She would think back on them when she felt she
couldn't succeed, and would use her knowledge of these ancestors
to motivate herself. Like when she was younger and was worried
about whether she would be able to live all on her own, she
thought of one cat who she was supposedly related
to--Blacklight, or something along those lines. She had
apparently lived alone as a child, and then found one of the
Clans and they became her family. She had hoped for the same
thing here, yet... it didn't seem to be working out too well.
Stumbling upon Alani, as she was about to do, could either prove
to be an annoying accident, or it could be fate and push the
group to form into an actual Clan. She would hope for the latter
if any of this popped into her mid, but alas, she was too
distracted with her grievances to think on any of this.
That was why she walked directly into the other cat, causing her
to trip over her tail and fall; it wasn't very difficult
considering the fact that she had such short legs, but, well,
she was indignant about it either way. "Why'd you get in my
way?"[/color] she complained, standing up. "You interrupted my
brooding." She didn't really mean it as a joke, but she noticed
the note of humor in the statement after she had already said
       it.
