life had he had the confidence of the other kits in their
ability to fight in play. He felt as though his mother was
disappointed in him. After all, she was an excellent fighter.
The young apprentice's ears flicked back as he settled outside
the apprentice den, his dull green eyes focused on the stone
ground. He would glance at the fresh kill pile, trying to count
how much prey he had caught in the two moons he knew how and
then look down again to downgrade himself.[/font]

"Hey Mopey McMoperson, how's it going?" Maplefur was bored and
was willing to do almost anything to take her mind off of her
boredom. Even if that meant helping a sad looking apprentice.

Maplefur appeared practically out of nowhere, the young
apprentice's fur bristled and he almost jumped to his paws. He
glanced up at the warrior, thoroughly embarrassed by his
reaction. "I-I'm not moping.. I'm fine."[/font]

"Mmmm no you're moping." Maplefur sat next to him, "And I'm
bored with nothing to do, so until you tell me why you're moping
I'm not going anywhere." It may or may not have been an empty
threat, but Maplefur didn't have anything to do today and
helping the apprentice was the only thing she could think of.

flicked back, his gaze staying off Maplefur for a while. He
eventually looked back at Maplefur, his tail flicking slightly.
"I just don't think I'm.. good enough to be a warrior. I'm
horrible at fighting.... the only thing I am good at is
hunting."[/font]

Maplefur gave him a look of pity. Poor kid, this must really
bother him. "Well maybe you should get a new mentor, after all
mentors aren't supposed to give up on their apprentices."
Although Maplefur wouldn't have any experience with that
considering that she'd never been a mentor. She's been fine with
that thought, she would be a terrible mentor.
