COMPOSING A BURLESQUE -- open, stagpaw needed
By: black rose Date: March 6, 2017, 1:52 pm

Since Stagpaw hadn't heard what he was supposed to do, Dragonpaw
was told she would tell him of his task. The short-legged cat
began looking around, and only after a few minutes with no
result did she call out his name. "Stagpaw! Get your butt over
here!" she shouted, stubbornly sitting down and waiting for her
brother to appear.

Stagpaw was sleeping in the dead when he heard his name called,
and quite a few times. The tom, who often slept under a nest as
well as in one, grumbled and dragged himself out of the den. He
then threw a glare in his sister's direction, ears flat on his
head. [b]"What d'you want?"

Oh, there he was. Good, that meant she could give him the
information faster. Dragonpaw stood up straighter as she began
talking. "Spiderscare told me to tell you that you've gotta go
to the battle session with everyone else, too. And, we've gotta
clean up after all the apprentices. Y'know, replacing nests, the
moss, bugs, all that good stuff," she instructed, glad to be
able to boss her brother around.

Stagpaw's tail slinked around this thin form, still looking as
if he was a kitten. He was only apprenticed a month or so ago,
yet his short stature made his actual age an argument of the
century. Was he six moons, or six weeks? Perhaps he was that tom
Muddypaw chased off the territory, a few weeks ago, as he was
scrawny and curious when he was just apprenticed. Still, the
month or so hardened him enough to realize that he didn't have
to take orders from his sister - at least, not in the tone she
produced.
"I hope I get paired up with you, so that I can beat your
behind." he rumbled, ears twitching with annoyance. When she
mentioned cleaning the den, he let out another sigh, this one
easily more agitated than the last. [b]"Dragonpaw, I just woke
up. Can't this wait until I eat, or something?"

"Fine, but you better eat quickly. She wants it done as soon as
possible!" And then she registered what he had said, taking it
as a challenge. "You would totally not beat me! If we were
paired, I would obviously win. I'm stronger than you, clearly,"
she retorted, annoyed with him for thinking he could beat her in
a fight.

"Oh?" the tom perked up a bit as she fed into his taunt. Oh,
jeez, Stagpaw was the taunt master, wasn't he? The tom rolled
his shoulders back. "Well, let's get this out of the way, so
that we can show which sibling is the better one. Of course, we
both know it's me." he tilted his head, grinning slightly. "I
just think you may need a little more convincing." He then
launched forward, letting out a playful yowl and aiming to
headbutt his sister, in hopes to catch her off guard.
