The older kitten was full of energy this morning. Owlkit had
escaped the warmth of her foster mother's belly and was heading
straight towards the clearing. She was expecting to hear meeting
calls, but they never came, so she sat down and began to pout.
The small tabby was almost an apprentice, why couldn't her
ceremony come early? She shook her head and grumbled to herself
as she crawled over to the fresh-kill pile, scanning the prey
with a bored look.

Sunnypaw had gotten hungry and went over to the fresh kill pile,
she hadn't expected to see a kit there. As she got closer and
she realized it was one of the older kits, Owlkit? "Hello."
Sunnypaw said as she started to look for food. "What are you
doing out of the nursery?"

The kit looked up to see an apprentice approaching. She didn't
know her name, but she was sure she was going to figure out.
"Hi. What's your name?" she asked, smiling slightly. Finally,
someone to talk to around here. Well, there were plenty of cats
to talk to, but she didn't really wanna talk to a warrior. They
were too smart and had too large of a vocabulary. Owlkit was
sure that this cat was an apprentice, she had a youthful look to
her. "Oh, just getting something to eat. Mama doesn't let me
have milk anymore," she replied, dragging out a tiny mouse.

"My name is Sunnypaw." She saw the kit take a small mouse, At
Least she isn't taking too big a prey. "What are you doing awake
so early?" Most kits slept in.
