[ BATTLE SESSION :: APPRENTICES + MENTORS NEEDED ]

Spider wasn't in much of a good mood. She had been sick, her
stomach doing flips day in and day out. But, she had a job to
do, and that was to assess the Clan's apprentices. She set up in
a clearing, free of the muck that plagued half of the territory.
She settled into a small nest she had hurriedly made, and waited
for the apprentices. Well, most of them.
Waterpaw waited beside her, eyes focused on the ground. She knew
the she-cat was hard of seeing, so she didn't want to leave her
alone, to fend for herself. Stagpaw, too, was with her. The
young tom was busy clearing out the edges of the clearing, and
making sure no burrs or thorns were stuck in the middle of it.

Freepaw stumbled in, almost tripping over himself as he burst
through the mist. He skidded to a stop and, after looking
around, realized he wasn't as late as he thought he was. Oh. The
apprentice cleared his throat and stood up straight, then
quickly made his way over to his brother.
Snakepaw stalked into the clearing, glancing around at the other
apprentices gathering for the battle training. He looked a
little out of place as he was probably older than all of them,
but that was his own fault. Maybe now he could finally make up
for all the work he'd been putting off. He, noticing Spiderscare
waiting patiently for the apprentices to arrive, raised his head
a bit higher and went to help Stagpaw finish clearing out the
area.

[font=courier]Crow-wing padded into the clearing, noticing
Spiderscare and walking over to her. Just before he made it all
the way, he leaned back to cough and wheeze for a moment; He had
actually rushed over here, believing he spent too long double
checking the prey he sorted earlier, and the running had
eventually triggered his asthma. When his cough died down, he
moved to sit beside the deputy. "Greetings Spiderscare. Are you
well today?"[/font]

Sunnypaw had run too the clearing so she wasn't late after
patching up the elders den. She sat down next to her mentor
attempting to control her breathing

Spiderscare slowly nodded to each feline as they joined, putting
pairings together in her mind. Surely Baldpaw and Dragonpaw
would be here soon, so she didn't want to pair anyone up, yet.
Tail swishing, she turned her head to Crowwing, and offered him
a small smile. "Not as well as I want to be - I threw up this
morning, and haven't felt well ever since." the she-cat winced
slightly, tail swishing. "I must've ate something bad last
night." she rolled her shoulders back in a shrug.
"I haven't seen you run that fast since mom called us for
dinner." Waterpaw hummed to her sister, moving to sit beside
her. Sure, Sunnypaw was more of a blur to her, but blurs did
move. "Who are you hoping to spar with?" the she-cat then asked,
swiveling her head to look around the clearing.
"Oh - uh, thanks, Snakepaw." Stagpaw huffed, heaving a branch
out of the way and glancing at the older apprentice. His voice
was deep, and he was certainly Buff Cat. Y'know, despite being
short and having curly ears. "Hey, Spiderscare, I think we're
good now." the tom called, tail flicking as he moved his gaze
towards Freepaw, offering him a quick smile.

Dragonpaw was quick to run into the clearing, annoyed at having
been late. "I'm here!" she called out, managing to stop herself
just before she would have crashed into Waterpaw.
Baldpaw approached alongside Morningstar, talking to the leader
as they entered the clearing. Morningstar was giving the
apprentice a bit of advice about hunting, as Baldpaw had wanted
to stop to catch something he saw on the way here. He would go
back afterwards to get it and bring it back to camp.

[font=courier]Crow-wing gave a slow nod in response before
meowing, "I see. You should see to some herbs and rest after
this." His amber eyes watched the multitude of apprentices, not
having realized how many they actually had in the clan. At least
some had more knowledge than others, like Snakepaw, to help
teach the younger apprentices what they don't know.[/font]

Spiderscare snickered quietly. "I wish you would take your own
advice sometimes, Crowwing." she hummed, before nodding. "I
will. I'm thinking maybe a poppy seed, or two." she wasn't even
close to herb savvy. She knew what they looked like, but that
was about it. She gave a quick nod to her brother, before
nodding to the apprentices. "Thank you, Stagpaw, Snakepaw.
Alright, everyone, gather around. I'm gonna -" she clenched her
yap shut, eyes wide before turning to the bush behind her and
throwing up whatever she had left in her stomach. Her lips were
pulled into a thin line, before she wiped away the sick and
turned slowly back to the others.
"I'm pairing you up. Right now, we are just getting a feel for
who knows what." she kept her eyes on the ground. "Sunnypaw and
Baldpaw, Snakepaw and Dragonpaw, Stagpaw and Freepaw." she
paused, as there was one more apprentice. Waterpaw. "Crowwing,
do you mind posing as an apprentice, for a few moments?" Spider
asked, tail swishing behind her.

Everyone insisted on herbs for his cough, but he will continue
to refuse them. His belief that their gods were the ones to gift
him such was far too strong to be broken just yet.
As he listened to Spiderscare, he leaned back from her, a bit
startled by her need to vomit. At least she had done so in a
bush. As she finished and started listing the pairings, he felt
very concerned. At the question, his ears perked slightly and he
briefly looked at Waterpaw, the only apprentice not named. "Yes,
I can." He then added, a bit quieter, "Spiderscare, maybe you
should go back to camp. At least take a few poppy seeds. I can
handle the apprentices for a bit."[/font]

Sunnypaw looked at her near sighted sister. "I don't really care
who I spar with, what about you?" Waterpaw was one of the cat's
Sunnypaw genuinely cared about.
Sunnypaw was taken aback the deputy's sudden vomiting into a
nearby bush. She heard her name first and looked at Baldpaw
after hearing his name. "Nevermind." Sunnypaw said to Waterpaw.
