don't go breakin' my heart [open]

Lavenderpelt dashed forward, spraying water as she sped over the
mucky ground towards her target. She was fast despite the muddy
terrain beneath her and she should have had it in her claws by
now, but luck just wasn't on her side today and it slipped away.
She slowed down and sighed in defeat as she watched her prey
disappear into some weeds. The warrior glared in its direction
before turning and stalking off, her long tail lashing with
       irritation.
She knew she should've tried to stay on dry land or in the
trees, as those were where she hunted best, but that was awful
hard considering she lived in the marshes. Besides, it was very
early morning, so the fog was too thick to really see the
branches anyway. Lavenderpelt didn't really want to miss a step
and fall to her death just for a scrawny bird. Not she didn't
know how to fall from a tree, but after her sister broke her
leg, she wasn't taking any chances.
The young warrior followed a scent path she had left for herself
to find a couple of voles she had buried earlier. Hunting was
normally best in the morning, but today wasn't going so well and
she was sick of disappointing herself. She figured she would
just head home and clean up her mud-splattered legs so she could
       maybe catch the dawn patrol.
As she approached the camp, she took in a breath of the foggy
air that carried the scents of her clanmates, many of whom were
still sound asleep. The silence of the early morning comforted
her, a peace that was often interrupted by noisy talk and
chattering when the sun was high. That was why she liked going
on the dawn patrol as well, since cats were rarely in a peppy or
talkative mood and rather focused on doing their work and
staying awake. Not that she didn't like conversing, she did,
just not when it felt fake or meaningless.

Sunnypaw nearly fell out of the tree, her nightmare really
freaked her out. She noticed the sun was just barely rising.
Sigh. She hated waking up before dawn, she figured a walk would
help clear her head.As she land on the wet dirt with a loud
squish Sunnypaw yawned and started walking toward the center of
camp. Not eager to go back to sleep Sunnypaw used the morning
fog to help wake up. She noticed one of the new warriors,
Lavenderpelt, also walking about. Since she didn't feel like
talking Sunnypaw just nodded her head to the warrior as a sign
of respect and a silent 'morning'.

Spiderscare was definitely a morning cat - perhaps that was one
of the reasons she was promoted. No one had to wait for her to
get up, to hand out tasks for the day. She had left Lavenderpelt
free to hunt, as not many cats were up yet. And despite seeing a
few creatures still bustling around, she decided to let jobs
linger a bit longer and speak to her Clanmates.
"Lavenderpelt, I hope that was a nice run for you." she offered
with a small smile, then shared that same smile with Sunnypaw.

( i dunno man it just happened lmbo )
Lavenderpelt appreciated the quick hello and offered Sunnypaw a
silent nod of greeting as well as she passed by the apprentice,
then continued to head towards the fresh-kill pile. On the way
over, she saw the deputy approaching her, and Lavenderpelt
swiftly dropped off the two rodents before turning to look at
Spiderscare. "Ah- hello, y-yes. It was," she said with a slight
fumble of her words. She straightened her posture as she faced
the young deputy. She didn't know why she suddenly felt uneasy.
This was just the same old sweet Spiderscare, who was only a few
moons younger than her. But for some reason she suddenly felt
the need to look alive in front of the newly promoted deputy. "I
didn't find much out there, but I'm sure the prey will liven up
later today," she said, taking control of her speech now and
gesturing towards the small voles she had caught as she spoke.
