take my lungs ;; intro
By: Whoa Date: February 27, 2017, 5:57 pm

While others seemed to be peacefully snoring in
their nests in the trees, a single warrior remained awake. Frail
Crow-wing was up, in fact he wasn't even in the trees with his
fellow clanmates. His wheezing had awoken him, and he crawled
out of the tree as quietly as he could. The moment he set paw on
the ground he started having a coughing fit that soon settled.
HazeClan would've guessed he was very ill if it weren't for the
well known fact he had asthma.
Crow-wing had shown he would refuse herbs many times, seeking to
cure himself since he was allowed to make such choices without
his mother watching over him. The youngish gray warrior sat on
the slightly damp ground with his amber eyes watching the mists.
He strongly believed in his ancestors, and with each coughing
fit he saw it as a test or a sign he should be watching. A
foolish thought, but he wouldn't hear any of it. His beliefs
were only strengthened when his coughing fits awoke him to see a
kit had nearly drowned themselves when they wandered out of
camp, and he swiftly came to the rescue.
The thought makes him feel the slightest bit of pride, but once
again he let his pride die. It was foolish to feel such a way.
His gaze wandered the fog, to see if he could catch a glimpse of
the ancestors, and even questioned if they wandered this close
to their camp before catching the slightest bit of movement. His
ears perked and he watched that spot, waiting for more
flickers.

Sunnypaw had heard coughing. A LOT of coughing. She rolled her
eyes Crow-wing, he had serious lung problems and refused to
seek treatment. Sunnypaw stealthily climbed down the tree and
ran across him to get a better look. After getting close to his
left side Sunnypaw decided to talk. "You okay?" She asked
genuinely concerned.

Crow-wing's ears perked slightly, but his gaze
didn't leave the mist. Hearing the concerned, he almost snapped
in response, thinking it was his mother. When he caught silver
fur, he realized it was Sunnypaw, and his tone softened just the
slightest. "I'm fine. I was simply awoken."

"Oh." This was normal, his coughing usually kept him up at
night. Sunnypaw liked to sleep as much as possible but the tom
was the closest thing she had to a friend. She sat close to him
because even though her fur was dense, the chilly air from the
fog at night was cold. A shiver ran up her spine.

A low chuckle rumbled in his tight throat. His
gaze rarely turned from the mist when he was up at night, but
his apprentice did draw his attention. Similarly to her, he
viewed her as a friend, and they were a pretty good pair up as
mentor and apprentice.
His chuckle was brought on by Sunnypaw's reaction to the cold.
His fur was dense and he was a fairly large cat with dark fur.
He was generally very warm, and the only time he'd complain of
the cold would be in the dead of leaf bare. His gaze shifted
slightly. "You'll get used to the cold."

Sunnypaw was embarrassed that her mentor noticed her shiver. "I
hope so." She should have been used to it by now but still she
only felt truly warm in the sunshine. Hence why her mother had
named her Sunnykit when she was born.

He gave a short nod as his gaze flickered back to
the mists. There wasn't anymore movement, and his ears twitched
back slightly. Why had their ancestors awoken him if they didn't
want to show him something?

Sunnypaw was starting to get tired, she tried really hard to
stay awake incase Crow-wing needed her. Eventually though her
tiredness won out and she ended up curling into her mentor as
she slept.

Crow-wing looked down at the apprentice when he
felt contact, and would've shove her off if not for the fact she
was sound asleep. The large tom huffed slightly, trying not to
upset his throat or wake up his apprentice.

"You two should be back in camp, getting some shut-eye."
Spiderscare hummed as she came close to the two, her own
tiredness evident in her eyes. She understood Crowwing's
condition, but didn't understand why he refused the help they
offered him. "The fog will still be here come morning." she
continued, flicking her ear as she nudged the apprentice.
