Sunnypaw almost ran into Crow-wing because of his sudden stop.
When he asked her this she smelled the air. It took some
training but if you focused hard enough it was easy to smell
through the fog. At first she didn't think there was anything
then she smelled a rabbit, it wasn't to far away. "A rabbit,"
she whispered, "ten no eight feet. To the left." Sunnypaw looked
at Crow-wing, praying she was right.

Crow-wing scented the air cautiously as not to
cause his throat discomfort. He was proud to know that his
apprentice was in fact correct, there was a rabbit nearby,
possibly lost. If it had poor enough eyesight it could waltz
right into their paws. "Good job Sunnypaw."

Sunnypaw smiled, proud that she was correct. She sat next to her
mentor waiting for his order to attack.

Spiderscare was nearby, silent and among the trees. She hadn't
asked permission to tag along, but she thought, as deputy, she
should assess the apprentices. It would probably be better,
anyways, if they didn't know she was there. She had told
Waterpaw that she would take her training, and the grey
apprentice crumbled under the pressure and nearly broke her leg.

The large warrior waited quietly, hearing the rabbit moving
about. His ears twitched and he glanced down to his apprentice.
Crow-wing gave a slight twitch of his tail, a silent signal to
pounce for it. It was close enough, and if it had a good nose it
would scent them soon.

Sunnypaw fell into a crouch position after given the signal, she
readied herself to pounce One, two, three! Sunnypaw jumped for
the rabbit quickly snapping it's neck and ending it's life, she
gave a silent thank to the ancestors, and brought the now dead
rabbit back to her mentor.

At the kill, Spiderscare let out a delighted purr, scaling down
the tree and appearing in front of Sunnypaw. "You did great,
Sunnypaw!" she mused, proud for the apprentice. She gave
Crowwing a respectful nod, before returning her gaze back to the
rabbit. After a few silent moments, she turned her head away,
back to the mentor. [b]"How long have you two been training,
again? Sorry, time is lost on me."

Sunnypaw looks at her paws, if cats could blush, she felt
embarrassed. Sunnypaw wasn't used to praise like that.

Crow-wing gave a low, careful purr of approval, a
rare smile appearing on his face as he watched his apprentice
return with the rabbit. His ears twitched when he heard the
deputy, and his amber gaze went to Spiderscare when he heard her
speak praise for Sunnypaw. Hearing her question, he paused
briefly to think. "It has been a few moons now I
believe."

Sunnypaw looked at her mentor, nodded her head. It had been a
few moons ever since Crow-wing started training her.
