"At least six moons," Maplefur answered. She wasn't feeling to
excited today, so her answer came out more monotone than she
planned. She sat down next to the new queen and watched the kits
play.

Lynxpath nodded in agreement when Maplefur came over and
answered for him. He looked back over at noticed she seemed a
little worried. "Yes, six moons or until we feel they are ready.
It's not an exact time, but most kits are dying to get out of
the nursery by then," the warrior said with a chuckle.

"I couldn't wait to become an apprentice then a warrior."

Silentstripe held back a hiss as Badgerkit bumped into him
again. "Snowclaw, eh?" He grumbled, looking over at Snowkit. He
always wondered how kits had this much energy in their tiny
bodies. He looked back at Badgerkit, smiling slightly. "And
what's your warrior name?"

Badgerkit was stunned by the question, but bounced back
immediately, grinning. "My name is Badgerfang, silly!" he
rumbled, showing off his rather puny teeth. "And I'm the
strongest GoldClan has to offer." he continued to brag, tail
swishing behind him.
Flora let out a small sigh of relief. "I wouldn't mind if they
stayed in my nest forever, though." she hummed at first,
grinning quietly. "I don't want them to get hurt, out there."
her gaze lingered on Maplefur for a few moments, before going
over to her children once more. She winced as Badgerkit
announced his warrior name - surely, he didn't like the idea of
staying with his mother his whole life. "But, I guess that's
Clan life, isn't it?"

"Yeah it is." Maplefur watched the two kits play, Kits. Maybe if
I met a decent or handsome tom or- Maplefur shook her head.
Don't be silly, none if these toms are stupid enough to have
kits with me. "Don't worry no one is made into a warrior unless
the leader thinks they're ready."

Maplefur stood up and stretched. "Well I'm hungry, I'll see you
guys later." Maplefur started walking toward the fresh kill
pile.

ago she had been a queen, and now her son Cactuspaw was a young
apprentice. "She is right, Flora. And when the time comes for
your sons to be apprentices, you can give the leader a
recommendation for their mentors."[/font]

"Oh, Badgerfang, how could I forget," He rumbled, looking at the
other kit. "I'm sure you can handle your opponent on your own,
then, can't you?" Silentstripe asked, hoping to return to his
meal. He rested his gaze on Flora, feeling a wave of sympathy as
he saw the slightly horrified look on her face. He knew that she
didnt wanna stay forever, and he felt a twinge of
disappointment. He had grown to appreciate the she-cat's
presence.
