       GOLDCLAN GUIDE

       GoldClan was started a few years ago by a tom named Ember, some
       time after the destruction/dispersion of the former clans. He
       found the old tunnels of an abandoned mine, and from the ashes
       he created a new place for cats to live and thrive. The first
       couple of years were rough, with the dangerous mountain terrain
       and predators, parts of the mine crumbling down on cats, and
       others getting lost in its maze. However, as time wore on, the
       cats grew strong and coarse from life inside the mine shafts and
       many of them grew to live for the thrills and hardships that
       came with the mountain. Fortunately, the mines are much safer
       and sturdier nowadays, and the warriors have learned the ways of
       surviving the mountain. Eventually the territory was expanded to
       the wide plains surrounding them. The hazardous demands of the
       early days of the Clan were hard on Ember, and he passed earlier
       than expected. For a little while, his deputy led the clan,
       until they disappeared suddenly and Lightningstar took their
       place.
       [font=georgia][size=12pt]TERRITORY[/font]
       GoldClan currently makes its camp in the abandoned mines of a
       rocky mountain with very few forests. The terrain around there
       used to be sprawling with mountain lions, bears, and wolves, but
       the numbers have greatly subsided. It is still advised everyone
       keep a keen eye out. There is a long stream that trickles down
       the side of the mountain into a rushing river that cuts through
       the plains surrounding them. As a result, the hardy clan hunts
       mostly fish or ground prey, but aren't opposed to catching the
       larger birds that settle on the mountain.

       The ranks currently follow the original ranks of the traditional
       clan. The medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice ranks are
       only one each for now.

       Warriors, apprentices, queens, kits, and elders are always open
       to play.

       GoldClan doesn't have a main religion and aren't raised to
       believe in such things, though some of the cats do. It is
       allowed, but normally looked down upon or not taken seriously.
