"All the stick in the muds," Spiderscare began, flicking her
tail on his shoulder as she took a bite of the bird. "are trying
to help you succeed." the tortie finished, looking towards him.
Even though he was a rank below her, he could easily tower over
her and maybe even win in a fight. She had half a mind to tackle
him, there and now, to see if she was right. But, the bird was
more interesting at the moment.
The warrior swallowed what she had in her mouth, rolling back
her shoulders as she prepared herself for another bite. At his
thanks, she let out an amused purr and rolled her eyes. "You're
welcome, honey. Anything for you." she hummed back, hiding her
grin as she continued to eat. She was half tempted to go back to
the topic on him still being an apprentice. She, in all honesty,
wouldn't mind if he finally was promoted, and if he joined her
in the warriors den. It was lonely in there, since she was one
of the youngest. Yet, his promotion wouldn't come anytime soon
if he kept acting the way he did.

Her reply that he took as a reproach caused his smile to fade to
a half-hearted smile. As she brought her eyes to his, Snakepaw
looked away. "Yeah, yeah," he said, looking a little irritated.
He understood she was genuinely trying to help him 'succeed',
which was why he sort of dealt with her obvious attempts to
nudge him in the right direction. However, it didn't change the
fact he wasn't going to pretend to be a goody-two-shoes just
because someone told him to, even if it was Spiderscare.
Deep down inside, though, he knew she was probably right. She
usually was. After all, he didn't really want to be an
apprentice forever. In fact, the thought of that happening made
him feel sick to his stomach. But like the bonehead he was, he
didn't do anything about it.
After she replied to his exaggerated thank you, Snakepaw decided
he couldn't stay a grump forever and flashed her a smile before
taking another bite of his mouse. Though his emotions did show
through more often than he liked, he didn't let it last long and
pushed it back down again. If you couldn't tell already, he
liked avoiding things. It was easier that way.
Snakepaw swallowed a bite and quickly thought up something to
say before the silence between them caused her to bring up her
own topic, which he was sure he wouldn't like. He put on a sly
smile. "Anything, huh? I'll keep that in mind," he purred.
