Spencer padded through the forest, her brown tabby fur
ruffled by the early summer breeze. Where could I be? she asked
herself, green eyes growing wide with worry.
Spencer had just been on a walk, minding her own business.
That was when that stupid bird came by. You shouldn’t go
out alone, her mother had said, you get distracted too easily.
You’ll get lost. Spence really should have listened to
her.
Suddenly, the brown tabby heard a rustling in bushes behind
her. Spencer looked around, her heart racing. Come on Spence,
she willed herself, you’re just being paranoid.
There’s nobody here out in the middle of the woods and
they’re certainly not going to attack you.
The brown tabby took a deep breath and calmed herself. It
was up to her instincts now.
She was screwed.
