but i wanted the pain [open] to disappear

Jack had what you would call insomnia. He didn't always have it,
but nowadays he had a lot to think about. These weren't the
annoying thoughts that kept you up in the middle of the night,
like how you will pass that test tomorrow or what the meaning of
life was. They were the dark thoughts that made dread going to
sleep at night because you knew they would be there and leave
you exhausted the next day. They haunted every silent moment of
the rest of your life. And they would never let it slide for
just one night. It's kinda like your clingy ex that won't stop
calling you. But, uh, I guess I wouldn't know anything about
that. I think I'm getting off topic.
The fox rolled onto his back, feeling uncomfortable. Probably
because his nest wasn't really big enough for him. He should
probably work on that. Yeah, maybe he could go find some more
bedding. Good idea, let's take a walk just like you do every
single night. Then you'll fall asleep eventually, probably under
some random bush that isn't very good shelter because it's also
too small.
Jack rolled onto his feet and stood up, silently slipping out of
the warriors den. He headed out of camp without bothering to fix
his tousled fur. Maybe he'll find a better bush this time.

Jack didn't notice the kit right away and he kept right on
walking down the flattened path. He searched around for some
moss or dry leaves, but he couldn't get himself to focus. The
smells and sounds around him, not to mention the painful
thoughts and voices in his head, were distracting. The fox
continued to walk, going nowhere in particular.

Unable to fall alseep because she energy to burn Cocoa had
decided to salk around the outside of the base. A couple of
times. OK so she gone around the base 32 times, but hey who's
counting. Anyway she noticed their new fox ally heading out
into, she shrugged it off, not that odd she's out there after
all. Probably couldn't sleep either. Then not long after she
noticed the kit.", Hemlockkit, she decided to quietly follow.
More fun than going around the base for the 33rd time in a row.

Wavepaw spotted the kit and giggled. "Hey Hemlockkit." He said
and smiled. "What is jack doing?" He asked, rolling closer.

It was then that Jack realized he was being followed. Or at
least that he wasn't alone. The fox stopped in his tracks,
turning around and sniffing the air suspiciously. Then he heard
a faint giggle and some murmuring. Okay, he was definitely being
followed. He didn't have the slightest clue as to why they were,
but he figured now was the time to find out. His golden gaze
scanned his surroundings for any movement as he called out, "I
know you're there. Come on out."

Wavepaw instinctively put his paws up, his chair rolling over as
he plopped down. "Oof!" he mewed and got back on his paws and
rolled into view. "H-hey jack..."
