Clappaw had an abundance of energy that day. His tail swished as
he looked around for someone to talk to.

Hallowspaw returned from hunting, rather tired from chasing the
squirrel that was now in his jaws. Placing it carefully on the
pile, his eyes were drawn to Clappaw. They were good friends,
and he was comfortable approaching him, so that was what he did.
"Hey, Clap," mewed the apprentice, kneading the ground with his
paw.

"Oh, Hal! Hey!" the tom purred, hopping up to his paws. "I was
looking for you! Well, kind of. You're the first cat to greet
me, so I guess that makes you 'the one' I was looking for."
Clappaw paused, shook out his head, and smiled. [b]"Nice catch,
by the way! Did it give you a chase?"

He grinned sheepishly. "Uh, yeah. It did," he admitted to him.
Hallowspaw looked at it once more, before returning his gaze to
his friend. "How are you?"

Clappaw let the grin to continue to sit on his face. "I can
never catch anything nowadays. I definitely need more training."
he joked before letting the other continue. [b]"Oh, and I'm
good! Still a little shaken up, but fine nonetheless. You?"

"Yeah, I know." he chuckled. "I mean. I'm just glad that a
majority of our parents survived." he offered, turning to the
brightside. "Beside, you know, my birth parents. Guar's dad.
Your dad. Ash's dad, too." he paused, biting his lip. "But
there's still Mazedpaw and Teddypaw for Ashlee and I,
Stygianflare for Gigi, and Pheo for you." he brightened up once
more. [b]"And we still have each other!"

A soft smile made its way onto Hallowspaw's face. It turned into
a grin as he nodded at Clappaw. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I
should be glad we all have someone, yknow? And you're right. We
still have each other, too."

Clappaw nodded enthusiastically, launching forward to try and
tacklehug his buddy. "Y'know, I think that without me, none of
us would be friends. Like, I'm the glue here." he boasted,
laughing.

He smiled carefully in return, but it quickly turned into a
surprised expression as he was tackled into a hug. "Clap!" he
half complained, but it was directly opposed by the grin on his
face. He gave a quiet laugh as Clap continued, and commented,
"Well, that's true too. I mean, you're the reason I'm even
friends with them in the first place, right? So it's gotta be
true."
