No, You Never Saw New York *Open-Joining*

Wavepaw pulled himself along the path, murmuring something. "We
were tight knit boys. Brothers in more than name. You would kill
for me, and knew that I'd do the same," He seemed to be singing
a song. And it cut me sharp, Hearing you'd gone away. But
everything goes away, Yeah everything goes away." This song
recited in his head as the apprentice stopped, and continued to
sing. "But I'm going to be here until I'm nothing, But bones in
the ground, And I was there, when you grew restless, Left in the
dead of night. And I was there, when three months later you were
standing in the door all beat and tired And I stepped aside."
These lyrics seemed to tell a story of two brothers. Wavepaw
sighed, and pulled himself along more. "Everything goes away,
Yeah everything goes away. But I'm gonna be here until I'm
nothing, But bones in the ground. So quiet down" He was now
seemingly crying, but he dropped the tears and faked a smile and
stared at the sky. "We were opposites at birth; I was steady as
a hammer. No one worried 'cause they knew just where I'd be. And
they said you were the crooked kind And that you'd never have no
worth, But you were always gold to me." Wavepaw sighed and
stopped now, far into another clan's border. He would have to
nap, but as he drifted to sleep he sang the rest of the song.
"And back when we were kids, We swore we knew the future And our
words would take us half way 'round the world. But I never left
this town And you never saw New York, And we ain't ever cross
the sea." He glanced back at his horrid legs and sighed. The
horrible thing that had taken his brother's life and damaged
his. "But I am fine with where I am now, This home is home, and
all that I need. But for you, this place is shame; But you can
blame me when there's no one left to blame.. Oh I don't mind."
The black and white tom decided not to sleep, and got back up,
and continued to drag himself. His brother had dragged them into
this mess, then blamed it all on him right before he died. "All
my life, I've never known where you've been. There were holes in
you: The kind that I could not mend. And I heard you say Right
when you left that day, "Does everything go away?" Yeah,
everything goes away." As he decided now that he had dragged
himself enough, he paused and right before he closed his eyes to
rest, he mewed, "But I'm going to be here 'til forever. So just
call when you're around." Then he shut his eyes, hoping not to
       be bothered.

[font=times new roman]Sable had heard the song as he was
hunting. The sergeant major lifted his head, carrying a fresh
field mouse in his jaws. He spotted the young cat on the old
path and made a calm approach, setting the mouse down a few tail
       lengths behind him.

The apprentice stopped. "Uh, I'm Wavepaw, and I'm so sorry I'm
on your land.." He began tearing up at the Clan Cat. He wanted
to be one again so bad. "I....."

Frisk, normally, would send a snarky remark to the tom. Except,
she found something else better to do. "Whats wrong with your
legs?" she asked, stepping closer to Wavepaw.

"Um..." He was shot back by her question, the tears drying up.
"I was run over by a monster." he said, trying to look strait
up, but was having an issue, his front legs shaking as he hit
the ground. He didn't dare mention his brother.

Instantly, she was filled with sympathy. [b]"Awh, you poor
thing. Do you need a place to stay while you heal? I can help
you. Your legs will be as good as new, promise."

He nodded. "That would be great, thank you." He mewed kindly,
his maw turning pink as he blushed. "I have one question. If my
backbone is completely broken, how can you make it new when
Sorrel-leaf couldn't even help me. Honestly, didn't do anything
to help me and let brother die-" He stopped as he realized his
brother. he began to cry again. "he's gone....Pebblepaw...He's
Gone.." The tom who was just making it to his feet again
collapsed again, this time in sadness and grief.
