"Ugh, I'm late! SOORRRYYY!" The tiny grey kitten, Tinkit, padded
up to the group, eyeing all the cats. He looked at the herb and
tipped his head, already having heard what the other kits said,
he needn't say anything. He'd try next time.

"Mind if I join?" An inquisitive voice inquired. A stocky red
tabby kit padded in. Her paws made a loud thudding against the
ground, and it was obvious she was sturdily built. Still, she
had a bright, keen look in her blue eyes, and although she
seemed a bit clumsy, she was smiling in a cheerful fashion.
Daykit flicked her white-tipped tail as she walked over to the
rest, eyes flicking over them.

"Yeah, what they said!" Aurorakit meowed, trying to let her
quiet voice be heard. She was disappointed that she hadn't been
the first to answer.

As more kits flooded into the small clearing she called home,
she felt overwhelmed. The young she-cat nodded to all of them
and held out a poppy flower. "You're right. They cause
sleepiness to come and pain to go away." Without thinking, she
continued. "They grow in groups and the seeds can be poisonous
in great groups... Speaking of groups, can you all get in pairs
of two? You will be responsible for your partner during the rest
of this training. And, at the end, we will play a game where you
have to work together. I might choose a group to by my
apprentice, two separate cats, or just one." Decemberpaw took a
long sigh with a smile.
