I'M TAKING BACK THE CROWN // emberstar returns

Emberstar finally stepped back into her home territory,
breathing in the scents around her. They comforted her,
especially after what she just went through. The red tabby had
adventured back to the old territories to search for any
survivors, since the thought of it had been eating at her ever
since the disaster. It brought back some bad memories. On the
bright side, however, she was able to bring some survivors back
with her. She didn't really know them that well, but she was
hoping they would all get to know each other soon enough. As
they approached the camp, she looked back to check on the others
following her.

A dark cinnamon point followed her. This cat's fur was ragged
and full of knots, and she carried a slight limp. She seemed
rather grumpy.

A tortoiseshell followed behind slowly, trailing behind so that
she could get a feel for this place first.

Vegas stopped, looking around, before turning to Emberstar. "Do
you know where my kits are?" She pleaded. "My Clan? Anybody?"

"Emberstar!" The black Tom called, eyes wide. "You're back!
Fallenfire stepped up in your absence, and WitheredClan isn't
too happy with us." Inkheart relayed, pausing, then continuing.
"But, you can get to that later. Are you okay? Who are they?"

"Yes, I'm back. We're all okay." she sighed. Emberstar felt
gratitude when she heard Fallenfire had stepped up. It was nice
to know her Clan wasn't lost without her. The second part wasn't
so reassuring. "Oh, well, hopefully it's nothing we can't fix.
Anyway, I went back to look for survivors and I..I didn't find
anyone from LeafClan. But I did find these two," she glanced
back at them, letting Incandescence introduce herself and Vegas
start to demand information. "If any of your Clanmates survived,
they're probably already settled in the Tribe of Masked Hearts.
I'm sure we can go and visit them, see if any MemoryClanners are
staying there," she explained to the anxious former leader.
Emberstar turned back to Inkheart, a little worried. "Uh, we are
on good terms with the Tribe, right?" Last time she knew they
were, but apparently, more things happened while she was gone
than she had anticipated.

His breath was caught in his throat at the mention of the
journey and, as fast as he sucked it in, he breathed it out. His
siblings weren't found. He could only hope that they were with
their former owners. "A-ah." He murmured, voice cracking. He
shook his head out, clearing his throat. "WitheredClan is the
only one we've had trouble with this far, Emberstar." He
informed, shoulders slumping a little.
