[font=times new roman]an annoyed frown was on fae's face. she
was faced directly away from something, and her eyes were
closed, as if she didn't want to look at whatever was behind
her. she had good reason, but she had been able to contain it
before now. but somehow, she had made a mistake and here he was.
the one being she had been hoping to keep contained for as long
as possible. it seemed she had failed, however. somnus was here.
[color=red]"come on, fae. stop ignoring me, you know you love
me. i've done so much for you. you wouldn't be here if it
weren't for me!" came the childish voice of a male standing
nearby, almost exactly like her. however, despite this being
having her signature fangs and the mutated horns on him, it was
clear he was different from her. namely, the fact that he was
not a solid being. he was a shadow, sitting behind her with his
tail wrapped around his paws.
"shut up, somnus. you're wrong. all you do is hurt people. how
did you even get out? i was sure i had you under control," she
retorted, finally turning around and glaring at this lookalike.
what she said was true; she had kept him away, absorbed his soul
with the power of hers and still, somwhow, he was here once
more. she didn't understand, and she didn't think she wanted to.
nobody in the clan knew of him, and there was a reason.
"but i didn't even kill anyone last time! come on, i'm getting
better you have to admit," somnus complained, coming closer to
her. "i mean, i only hurt like four people last time you let me
out! and none of them were even important. i didn't even touch
frisk! even though i wanted to, i didn't. you should be glad
that i'm listening to you," he added on.
still annoyed, fae snapped at him, "you shouldn't be hurting
anyone! you're a sadistic little ****! you might have only
physically hurt those four people, but you traumatized more than
that, and you know it, and you're glad about it. don't even try
to deny it."
and he didn't. somnus wasn't going to defend himself. "well, of
course! i always enjoy it, you know this. that's nothing new. i
mean, we talked about this last time. did you forget?" with
that, he used his telepathy to project an image into her mind of
a memory of hers. a cruel little grin appeared on his muzzle as
she seemed to flinch.
"no. i won't forget," she growled, before turning away from him
once more. fae was done with this, she wasn't going to deal with
him anymore right now. she could only hope no one showed up and
saw him. that would take a lot of explaining on her part.

"Fae?" Cloudedfur called, his nubby tail wagging. The young
feline's voice sounded distressed, and he didn't exactly like it
when his clanmates were feeling down. [b]"Are you okay, girly?"

[font=timesnewroman]fae was opening her mouth to respond when
the shadow bounded past her, towards cloudedfur.
[color=red]"ooh, pretty boy," somnus purred, a slight lilt to
his voice. "little fae is okay." he lashed his tail, giggling
slightly. "after all, i'm here, and no one can take care of her
better than me," the feline added on, voice changing pitches
throughout the sentence. another giggle escaped as his ears
perked up. "isn't that right fae?" all he received from her was
a glare as she hung back, refusing to become a part of this.

"Okay. What the fuck, Fae?" he shivered, watching the shadow
with his eyes narrowed. [b]"How the hell are you doing this?"

[font=timesnewroman]fae took a few steps closer, but somnus
decided to explain it himself and interrupted her.
[color=red]"see here, she's not. the name's somnus, nice to meet
you," he purred, sticking out his paw and becoming solid to
allow him to shake it. his claws were very obviously unsheathed,
but that was something that was always there. it was great, in
his opinion. "she loves me, trust me."
fae was finally able to cut in, snapping at him, "shut up,
you're wrong. i hate your ****ing guts, so don't lie to him."
her tail lashed, annoyed with having to come closer, to have to
be near him in general. however, she knew if she didn't, he
might do something, and she would have to leave once more. the
'not caring' persona she had before was gone, replaced by having
to deal with him.
"yeah, you say that now," he teased, having lowered his paw now
despite if cloudedfur had shaken it or not. instead, he brushed
against him playfully, purring, "come on, pretty boy, let's have
some fun! don't worry, i won't hurt you..." with a little
giggle, he added on, "probably."

He cautiously took the other's paw, shaking it rather quickly
before dropping his paw. The whole idea of a shadow-shifting
brat made him a bit uneasy, but he didn't make a move to leave.
"Fae, I don't like your stalker all too much." it was meant to
be a joke, only to be startled by somnus's advances. [b]"Yeah,
no. See, I have a couple dead girlfriends to mourn. Maybe
another day."

pouted, taking a small step back. [color=red]"but you're cute.
you don't even have to pretend to like me, i wouldn't care. not
even gonna give me a couple of minutes?" oh, this was fun!
making others uncomfortable was always a talent of his. "hmph.
fine. but hey..." a sly little smirk took the place of the pout.
"i can change your mind eventually, i'm sure."

slipped in front of him. [color=red]"you're not going insane,
don't worry about that, and i am no stalker. if you want me to
explain the situation, pretty boy, you just need to ask me.
after all, what's the harm? fae meanwhile let out a hiss,
getting pissed at him. he wasn't going to listen it seemed.
