knocked me off the ground from the start [kit naming]

Angelic had grown attached to the kits during the travels. Their
pathetic mewls had grown on her, and she had done everything she
could to help them. It was also great that they had come across
a mother on their travels that offered to fill the children's
stomachs. Still, it saddened the she-cat that one of the
children hadn't made it. It was a little she-cat, most likely
the runt. He was having issues fighting for his food, and ended
up dying of starvation. The white and grey she-cat was
devastated, but she didn't let it bring her down. She had named
the kitten 'Balloon', after her sister who had died in the
tornado, before burying it. Hopefully, in StarClan, little
Balloon and big Balloon could get along.
But, that was besides the point. They had been going by pelt
colors and personality types, just in case another was to die.
She was sick of it, and decided to name them. She started with
the black tom, obviously the biggest, and he seemed to be a
little fighter, too. Just as well, he had his father's strange
white marking, just over both of his eyes. "You're going to be
trouble, aren't you?" she purred as she nudged the little guy,
getting a bat in response. "How about I name you Treble,
instead. Its a play on words - you'll get it when you're older."
she giggled, moving onto the next biggest kit.
Now, this one was a mix of the parents' pelts. That wasn't a bad
thing - tortoiseshells were adorable, and most of the time
desired by suitors. Not that this little girl would date. Nope.
Never. Not her baby girl. "I might jinx you, if I keep thinking
like that." she had an 'aha' moment, and rubbed her cheek
against her adopted daughter's. "I'll name you Jynx! Just, with
a y. Oh, you don't know what a y is, huh?" she giggled, flicking
her tail. "Don't worry, I'll teach you how to read later." she
promised before moving on.
The next kit was nearly as big as the first, and seemed to
already have an 'I don't care' type aura surround him. Angelic
found herself staring at him for a bit, unsure what to name him.
He had brown fur, and seemed to become a little brat like his
brother... "StarClan, you got me drawing a blank." she murmured,
using her paw to move him closer. "Oh, what's that called... Its
a... A..." she squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them
suddenly. "Ellipses! That's it. I'll name you that, you little
bugger." she licked the top of his head, finally moving to the
next kit.
"Awh, girly, I can't see you." Angelic mumbled as she regretted
her nesting spot. Shadows were cast over the last two kits,
making it hard to make them out. She pouted, but shrugged as she
thought up a name anyways. This one was a girl, and was bound to
look like her siblings. She squinted, trying to see at least the
body shape of her child. A smile was welcomed onto her face when
she saw her daughter's elegant shape. "Maybe I'll name you after
a dance. Waltz, Bachata, Tango.." she listed off names of dances
before, yet again, having an 'aha' moment. "Minuet!" she
squealed, brushing her tail on the child.
The last child remained unnamed, as Angelic was running out of
them already.

The brown tabby was fast asleep soon after being named. He was
lazy, it seemed. Well, when he was older, everyone would get
used to that.

shrugging anyways before returning to name the last kit.

better )
Newly-named Minuet stretched out her thin legs as much as she
could and brought out a big yawn, then she pulled them back
sleepily. She was tired, it had been a long day for the somewhat
newborn. But she was also hungry. The little girl struggled to
roll over and lift her head, sniffing around expectantly.

"What are you doing, you little dancer?" Angelic purred as she
looked towards the kit at the end. She frowned, tail flicking.
"Oh, you're hungry, aren't you?" she murmured, her tone slightly
saddened. She couldn't provide for her children the way a real
mother could. Instead, here she was, chewing up some mouse and
placing it on a leaf beside the dilute tortie, and hoping it
would be easy to digest.

btw i made angie take up the last name "flickerence" bc im trash
so if you wanna have that last name too, just say she gave it to
her kit.
