Hallowspaw had just returned from hunting. He had managed to
catch a few mice, but not much else. The below-average-sized
apprentice brought the prey to the pile, dropping it there.
After a moment of thought, he picked up one of the larger ones
and headed towards the warriors' den.

Phoenixfeather sat in her nest, trying to rid herself of the
smell of herbs. Not many cats liked it stinking up the warriors'
den, so here she was, stuck cleaning her fur thoroughly. She
spotted her son and stopped for a moment, curious. "Hallowspaw,
is there something you need? I don't think your mentor is in
here at the moment." she paused. "Wait. Fallingstar is your
mentor, isn't she? Downpaw has Roanoke as a member, right." she
took a deep breath, discarding her mistake.
[b]"So, did you catch that, Hal?"

He nodded, putting it down for her. "I came back and I thought
that you might be hungry, so I decided to bring you something to
eat." he told her, looking up and smiling at her.

She smiled and patted her nest. "We can share it, alright? You
did catch it, after all." she leaned over to lick his forehead,
then took a quick bite of the fresh kill.

'hal,,,, u remind me lots of ur dad,,,' ]

( not in looks but i mean he's like epp was when he was really
young before he got all confident )
Hallowspaw grinned at her praise, laying close by. He waited
until she began eating before taking a bite. She was his mother
after all, and he should show her respect.

"You know, you remind me a bit like your father." she murmured.
"Not physically. I mean, personality wise. He used to be scared
of a lot, kind of like you." she teased him, flicking her tail.

He looked down, shuffling his paws at the comparison. He didn't
really know much about his father, but maybe... "Can you tell me
more about him?" he asked hesitantly, hoping not to upset her
with the question.

She expected this after bringing Emptypromises up. "Do you want
me to sugarcoat anything? Or tell you everything straight?"

"Well, don't say I didn't warn you." she sighed with a smile.
"He was a nice tom, like you. He was handsome, too, and had many
cats walking after him. That was one of his flaws, though. He
didn't know when to tell them to stop. There were many that
wanted him, and even after we started dating, others still
flocked to him, and tried to break us up..." she paused, trying
to remember.
"He wasn't always the most open with others, either. When he
wasn't comfortable, or didn't feel like another deserved his
attention, or anything of the sort, he gave short responses. In
fact... he did that... a lot." she chuckled. [b]"But, again, he
was a good tom. He was nice to me, most of the time, and helped
anywhere he could. He was excited when I told him about you and
Downpaw, when you two were still in my stomach. If only he could
see you now. He would be so proud. But he wouldn't show it
normally, no. He would probably show it in odd ways, but you
would know."
