kitten??
By: Raven` Date: September 18, 2015, 5:28 am
---------------------------------------------------------
so you know how my elder brother has a kitten (luna) and such?
well the kitten has been staying mostly in my room or my little
brother's room. my little brother and i feed her and take care
of her, while her real owners don't. blah blah
anyways, i'm starting to get a bit worried about little luna. my
elder brother is finally looking for an apartment, but it's been
weeks since they've stayed here, and luna is growing attached to
rayn and storm, and more significantly my little brother. i have
no idea if tearing a kitten away from an essential second family
could cause abandonment or trust issues in the kitten but you
know?? i worry a lot.
my mom brought this up to my brother's wife & she brushed it off
as "you can keep her if you want" which made me far from happy
mainly because luna has to be at least the fifteenth pet that
they've just given away. but that's whatever. the main question
i am asking is should i ask to keep her and save any possible
struggles she might have with moving, or take the chance and
leave her?
i mean, i know trying to convince my parents to let us keep luna
and contain another pet will be harsh, seeing as that's more cat
food and litter. but we've been holding up for the past couple
weeks and haven't had to refill anything purely because of her.
plus, she's rlly cute and she's starting to grow on me. the cats
like her too. i'll find rayn and luna curled up around eachother
while sleeping, or luna and storm playing around. it's cute,
really.
i'm extremely torn ugh. help please.

well how good is her real family treating her? if she's not
being fed, she's most likely suffering..

the thing is, her family doesn't even see her. shes always in
one of the rooms. i have no idea on how she's treated if i can't
even see her interact with them. and from their past
experiences, and their experiences now, it seems like they
shouldn't even have a pet. hell, they got evicted because they
didn't pay rent, and they're struggling because the wife has an
addiction to buying everything. how could they take care of a
pet? on another note, they've had many pets before, and all have
been given away (including king, who was the wife's dog for five
years before she sold him for money, which she ultimately bought
clothes with) and i simply don't want luna to fall into that
category again.

imo i think u should keep her bc she needs a family that would
actually take care of her
i hope she ends up ok wherever she ends up! <3

i agree with puddin
i just think you have more than enough reasons to keep her. if
she stays with them, she doesn't get much attention and will
most likely be given away to someone else anyway. if you keep
her, she gets a loving family, the right care, plus you get an
adorable tiny child what more could you ask for?? yes, that
means paying for another animal, so i wouldn't beg for her if
your parents aren't too excited about it, but if they're okay
with it then yeES.
also, think about what you want too. do you want another kitten
or nah??
idk i'm not really great at deciding things but if it was me i
would want to keep her. if she was a dog it'd be different but
cats are sort of easier to take care of i think.

tbh there are moments where she's a great cat but there is also
the fact that she pees on clothes :/ she's litter trained and i
havent seen any stray poop spots but i opened one of my drawers
today (that i had left open due to my elder cat sleeping in
there) and half of my clothes smelled of urine. its yuck.
im gonna have to deal with it for another month now. they were
supposed to leave today (sunday) but still had no place to go.
tonnes of drama happened and my dad settled on the end of
october for them to leave. unenthusiastic yay. long story short
is that if she trains herself not to pee on stuff, then i'll be
glad to take her in. if by the time they're packing up and i
find more of my stuff peed on, then she might have to leave.

ohh okay i understand that yes
the thing is, so does our kitten phoebe xD the only way we found
to fix it was to not leave piles of clothes or blankets where
she could go. now our house is cleaner bc of it tbh. she does
occasionally pee on my sister's bed for some reason idk why. we
also realized that usually when she peed/pooped somewhere else,
the litter boxes missed a day of being clean or something. she
was just really picky about them being clean, i've seen her hop
into one without going and then leave, just bc it wasn't good
enough for her. we have to make sure the litter boxes are
changed regularly otherwise she finds somewhere else to go :I so
maybe luna has the same problem?
idk, that's all i got. it's ultimately you and your family's
decision, i just hope she ends up in a good home<3

**UPDATE ON LIL LUNA**
She hasn't peed on anything recently. She doesn't mind being
held. She loved Rayn and Storm and even tries to play with
Melody. If I lay down for a bit, she'll try and curl up with me.
And, since she's still a kitten, she's helping keep the other
two active.
Due to all these improvements, I have finally asked if we can
keeper. We can't. But, in the words of my father, "You can."
Meaning I, the daughter and lover of animals, will have sole
responsibility of lil Luna. Which means I will keep her and,
continuing the words of my father, "once she gets neutered,
she'll be a part of the family." All I have to do now is notify
my older brother about Luna and boom, I got new kitty.
tldr i get to keep luna yes

I told my oldest brother and his wife about keeping her. His
wife just shrugged it off and was like, "Yeah sure." While he
was like, "Are you sure? She isn't the best you know. She pees
on a lot of things. And she hates this and that." Like I stood
there and listened to him go on and on about how she once was. I
then reminded him about the month or so where I and my little
brother soully took care of her. He then proceeded to say,
"Well, we can just let her out in the forest you know. Less
stress for all of us." Like. Uhm. No. She's still tiny. She
doesn't know what hunting is. She won't survive out there. Why
would you even say that???
