Pheonixfeather returned to the camp, a vole in her maw. She
walked towards the fresh-kill pile, but stopped a few steps and
glanced up, in the direction of the medicine den. Heh, she
hadn't gone in there in a while, has she? That's a bit
saddening. The she-cat took up this chance, and her vole, and
walked up to the medicine den. She peaked her head in, sniffing
out the herbs and differentiating them easily. "Mazedpaw?
Stygianflare?" the she-cat called, not really expecting a
certain one to pop their head out.

Stygianflare had been just resting a bit, since her leg was
still bothering her. When she heard her friend's voice she
decided to get up. "Hey, Pheo," she greeted her, smiling, but
winced when she put too much weight on it. "How've you been?"
she asked, sitting back down.

remembering her friend's injury. She brought the vole over to

She laughed quietly, accepting the piece of prey. "Thanks."
Stygianflare waited to eat it, instead insisting, "So? How are
you?"

"Oh, I'm doing fine." the she-cat purred, sitting down beside
Stygianflare. "What about you? I heard that you got attacked at
the battle, and were hurt."

She shrugged in response. A few seconds later, she said, "Yeah,
I got hurt, but not as badly as some others. I was lucky to not
get hurt too badly, with me being so out of practice."

"Everyone was busy fighting others, and I had to keep
Guardianpaw safe. He's not trained yet, so he could've gotten
hurt," she responded, turning her head to look at Pheo.

"That's true." the ginger she-cat leaned over and attempted to
lick her friend's forehead. "But, hey, soon all these kits will
be apprentices, and then warriors. And you won't have to worry
about protecting yourself too much anymore." she chuckled and
laid down in the dirt. "Though, I would much rather them not
grow up. If they grow up, then they will have to fight in
battles and risk their lives... Downpaw and Hallowspaw... it
seems like they were both kits just yesterday."

"Agreed... I don't want them to get hurt, but I have to let them
live their lives." Frowning slightly, she decided to start
eating the vole that Phoenixfeather had kindly brought to her.
