okay one last thread for the morning

i know this happened a long while ago i think idek
on wcrpg (feralfront ew)
like a big pm went out and practically said
"o u make rllly good fancypoost
well u cant copyrit bc yah
ur fancyposst is all fancypust now"
of course it was a hella lot more formal and nicer and made more
sense
and i understand that others can make extremely similar
fancyposts to, say, the ones i make
but it was practically saying that just because two people could
start from scratch and end up with the same thing
then why should copyright matter??
why should someone's hardwork (they sometimes took me hours u
wouldn't believe) not be ripped by someone else?

say i made the besT FANCYPOST EVER IN THE WORLD IT WAS BEAUTIFUL
AND GR8
but it took me weeks slaving over the computer, finding the
perfect size and colors and codes
and it was rlly beautiful and stuff but like
two days later someone else is posting around with that same
fancypost and claiming that they made it.
sure, you can go back and see who posted first with the
fancypost or whatever, but since there is no more copyright,
then anyone could take your fancypost

yeah i really have no idea
at first it seemed okay
bc like someone could make a fancypost and anyone could use it,
and that would be cool!! bc sometimes i think people were a
little picky about that. like as long as we give credit it's
fine, why do you have to make us do all this stuff just to use
it gosh
but now they actually let people steal it
i don't know
they could've just said you couldn't sell them anymore
or something
i don't know
i was already confused now this i just can't
