Chapter 1 -
Oakfall flattened his ears, backing towards the edge of the
screech-filled clearing. Around him, the triumphant yowls of the
opponent Clan filled the air. The young warrior's gaze darted
across the clearing from one bloody cat to another. The
bloodthirsty RiverClan cats have ambushed ThunderClan's
territory. And the only cats they didn't bring were their
elders. He thought, scowling. And so far, RiverClan was winning.
The fear-filled yowls and battle cries were drowned out by a
screech, followed by an eerie silence. Oakfall crawled through
the frozen bodies of his Clanmates, staring in horror at what
lay infront of him.
"Ashstar!" That one cry ringed out through the clearing.
Oakfall stiffened. As if on cue, the cats of ThunderClan
streamed around him, screeching in panic. Oakfall hissed,
fighting against the current of his Clanmates. He swung his head
around, catching one glimpse of a RiverClan warrior before he
fell cold on the ground, blackness devouring him.

Chapter 2 -
"Will he be okay to go to the Moonstone tonight?"
"Quit your asking of questions. Its getting on my nerves."
"I never knew kittypets had nerves."
Oakfall groaned, lifting his head up slowly. Bickering infront
of him was the two medicine cats, Firefawn and Bluebird, and
Bess scowling beside them. He admired the ragged cat's
hot-headed temper. Firefawn was pacing anxiously, while Bess and
Bluebird were having an argument over their history of a
kittypet life. Bess was raised as a kittypet, but her Twolegs
weren't fond of her. One night, the Twolegs threw her out in the
cold, harsh rain. Bess joined ThunderClan as an apprentice, and
lived there ever since. Firefawn, however, had a different
story. Her and her sister, Callie, were kittypets, and they
wanted to join the clan beneath the trees. Firefawn took a
liking in the job of a medicine cat, while Callie became a
warrior.
* * *
Oakfall bounded down the slope, his ears pricked in the harsh
breeze. Firefawn followed him, though she was lacking behind.
They were both traveling to the Moonstone, for Oakfall to get
his nine lives. Their former leader, Ashstar, was killed in the
battle that took place last moonhigh, when the clouds blocked
the moonlight. It was a battle about one of the most important
parts of the territory: The path to Fourtrees. RiverClan wanted
power, and ThunderClan was weak, with only a few clanborn
warriors. ThunderClan has fallen, due to a spreading whitecough
that almost killed the whole clan. RiverClan took this as an
advantage.
