( i mean i guess this could be open but.
this thread is mainly just two characters talking to one
another.
and both will be sleeping when the first post ends soo )
( pheo is in orange | sibuna is in salmon
for nostalic reasons. )
It was a decent night. The moon held itself above the clearing
ground, shining as much as it could and giving all the light it
can. Most were asleep in their nice warm nests, sleeping the
night terrors away. All the while, others explored. Others
refused to rest when work was to be done. Others, who happened
to look alike.
Sibuna trotted into the meadow, jaw hanging slightly. She was
tired, to tired to even remember how to close the darn limb. She
stopped in the middle of the area, pressing her paw to her
appendage and forcing it shut, then wiping away her drool. She
glanced at her worn and torn pads, licking at them for moments
on end. Her actions seemed on loop, not stopping, not slowing or
speeding up. All until a cat just like her found their way into
the clearing as well.
Phoenixfeather trotted into the area, head raised and eyes
alert. She, too, was tired. But she didn't dare let her enemy,
whom she was approaching, see. She walked close to the she-cat,
looking her over. Her copycat seemed to be suffering just as
much as she was. The ex-med let her shoulders slouch as she sat
in silence, watching the other. Just as she licked her bleeding
pad, the other spoke.
"You're... bleeding?" she murmured, her voice, although tired,
still held its sassiness. Pheo stared at her, placing her paw
back in the grass. She rubbed it in the grass, dying it red.
"Appears so." was all she said, taking her eyes off of the
leader and glancing down at her paw.
"Shouldn't you take care of that?" she asked, eyes focused on
the other. If Pheo looked up, she would have seen the slight
concern that Sibuna had in her eyes.
"Why should I bother the medicine cats?" she said, voice
cracking. "They probably have worse things to take care of."
"But it could get infected...!" the she-cat mustered up all the
feeling she could, frowning.
"And why would you care?" Pheo snapped back, glaring at the
leader who has tortured her most of her life.
"Because... because who would I have to taunt then?" she said,
still frowning. "Or who would your kits have? I know for a fact
that your stupid hubby died!" the leader tried coming off a bit
rude, only for her voice to crack. What had happened to the
easy-to-break she-cat that she loved to hate?
"..." Pheo looked down again. "What about you? I know that you
aren't usually this skinny."
"I could say the same for you." the two sat in silence once
again, just staring at each other. Pheo broke first, tears
slipping out of her eyes. She clenched her jaw as her tears,
filled with frustration, fell onto the dandelions on the ground
beneath her.
"I just don't understand!" she growled, claws unsheathing and
sinking into the ground. "Why does it feel like my best isn't
enough anymore? I hunt, and hunt, and hunt! Yet kits still
complain that they're hungry! I continuously find herbs to help
my comrads, yet they seem to run out so quickly! I try to keep
my best face on, yet cats still pick on my flaws!" she cried,
tail lashing angrily. "'Wow, Pheo, you are as thin
as a twig!' 'Oh, Pheo, you shouldn't work so hard!' 'Hey, Pheo!
You look real tired, how about a nap?'" the ex med
immitated npc comments. "I'm even being strong and
stoic for you, because you always picked on my for being weak!
Yet that still isn't right, because now you're taking pity on
m-"
The she-cat was cut off by the leader wrapping her paws around
her body, giving the ex-med a hug and practically squeezing the
life from her. Pheo stared at her, shocked and angry. She opened
her mouth, about to continue to complain before being cut off by
her own hiss as a stinging feeling suddenly attacked her paw.
Sibuna had released her from the hug, but now was cleaning the
cuts on Pheo's bleeding paw. The slightly bigger cat watched the
smaller one clean her wound, tears still slipping from her eyes.
Sibuna unwrapped the cobwebs that she kept around her tail (for
emergencies) and wrapped them around the RainClanner's paw.
"Pheo. I want this little rivalry to end. At least, as far as
our personal selves go." she murmured, easing her companion into
a laying position. She licked the tears off of her face. "I know
that I'm supposed to hate you because you continuously foil my
plans, but I just can't stand seeing you in this state of mind.
Kits will always be hungry, herbs will always be needed, and
others will always worry for you. F.ck, even I'm worrying for
you." she sighed, staring into her eyes. "Just, please, stop
being like this. Go take a break. Eat, sleep, whatever you need
to. Because this isn't the Pheo most know and love, and its
definitely not the Pheo that I used to tease."
"Isn't that a good thing? That I'm no longer that softie?"
"It can be, but not when the alternative is a fussy she-cat with
no food in her gut."
"What about you, then? You must be even thinner than I am!"
"Well, a leaders gotta do what a lea-"
"Don't even finish that! You need sleep too!" Pheo frowned. "How
about we make a deal to take better care of ourselves from now
on?"
"... Deal." Sibuna purred. The two she-cats then started to
share tongues, smoothing down ruffled pieces of fur on one
another, telling one another about what's been going on lately.
Soon enough, the two fell fast asleep, curled around on another.
