       Night, after a long and hard birth, gave birth to lovely, lovely
       kittens. Six of them, to be exact. They were small, feeble even.
       As if they were born premature. Maybe so. Night didn't want to
       admit, but two of the kits didn't look right to her. They didn't
       smell right, either. Though she forced herself to not
       investigate further. This was a happy moment, not a sad.

       One of the kittens, a small white blob, stirred briefly to
       adjust his position so that he would have more warmth. Then he
       eased back into a gentle sleep, his chest rising up and down
       softly.
