       My nightmare from last night
       By: Raven` Date: July 30, 2014, 3:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
(altered into a story format with you as the main character.)
You got a new video game off of your local flea market. You
don't even know the name of it, as the title seems to be
scratched off. It doesn't occur to you if it could be something
bad. It's just a video game, what could happen? You go home,
simple as that. You put the game into the system it belongs to
and grab your controller. First, the disk isn't being read. You
suspected a much, so you go and clean up the disk. You put it
back in and try again, thankful it works.
The icon for the game had a strange smile. Large and out of
place, just sitting there. The name of the game wouldn't appear
either. It was just... Blank. Non existent. Should you right it
off? Should you continue playing? Or should you rip the disk out
and snap it? Just as you decide to play, your little brother
enters the room and sits next to you, deciding to watch. You
ignore - your little siblings always wanted to watch you play
games. It was normal. Just as the game starts up, you feel a
shock go through the controller. Then another, and another. Soon
you drop the controller and a ringing enters your ears. It's
loud. It's unbearable. It's annoying as hell. You hear the
distant voice of your brother scream 'No', and then everything
is at peace. Or so it seems.
You were sucked into the video game. Small text played in front
of you. "Play the game." It says. In smaller text, you can
barely read, it says "and escape". You grin and turn around,
facing where the TV screen would be. You see your brothers cute
little face twisted up in fear and panic. You put your hands up
an point to the start button. Your brother understands and
       starts the game with ease.
It starts just as a video game would - an opening scene and an
objective. The objective of this game was to get to an end
point, activate it, and leave the game you were sucked into.
       Easy, right?
Well the beginning is. You go down a few halls, take rights and
lefts, sometimes go straight. Then something flashes across your
vision; Go Away. Naturally, you figure it's a part of the game.
You ignore it to make yourself feel better. You look back to
your brother to see that he was intently looking at the things
around you. As if he saw nothing. You turn back around and
       continue down the path
Soon you come to a room with a large chair. The chair seems to
be one you would find in the living room of a family house or
the common room of an elderly home - something with odd floral
pattern and not so comfortable sitting positions.
You walk closer, the music changing to a much lighter tone. So
light, it's actually a bit scary. You recognize it as one of the
songs you heard all the time as a child. What was it? Rock A By
Baby? Well, that wasn't important now, because now you see a
       figure on the chair.
It is small. It seems to be wearing one garment over its entire
body. Coming closer, you seem to hear it's crying. Finally, when
you come closer, the person looks up and reveals a small child.
A baby, even. Small, blue eyes, mess of blonde hair, and one of
the most adorable little pouts you could ever find. You,
naturally, walk up to the child.
"Who are you?" The kid sniffles, his voice pattern different
than expected. It sounded older than what he looked like. Maybe
a five or six year old's voice, while he resembled a two or
three year old. "Are you my new friend? If that's true, can you
get something for me?" Okay, simple. A gathering quest. You nod
yes and the baby points down a long winding corridor. "The
monsters. They took my teddy bear. I want it back." And with
that, you were off. No further explanation needed.
But it began to occur to you, why did you take a quest from a
child? A mere infant at that? Mostly those were side quests,
ones tending to child's needs. But this was the only one around.
That was the only person around. Hmm.
Well you go down the hallway as instructed, only now realizing
that you only have your fists to fight with. You avoid all
monsters sight on purpose, making light steps and strides. At
the end of the hall, you spot a floating teddy bear with some
tears and rips, and a strange red aura around it. You mark it
off as something from the game. What else would it be?
You walk forward and collect it, but upon collecting the item
all the monsters turn and face you. Some of them twice your size
while others nearly half of you. You panic slightly and have a
running start, but are stopped by something in front of you. The
door to the hallway was closed. You have to defeat these
       monsters, but how?
The grotesque beings come closer and closer. You shut your eyes
hoping that will block the pain and start swinging your hand
around, smacking an object into all of the beings. They seemed
to be backing off. You open your eyes to see that the teddy bear
you had been throwing around to fend yourself had scared off all
of the monsters off, and you wonder why. You look back at the
teddy bear and find that it had the creepiest smile yet. All of
its rips and tears were gone with clean stitching, as if they
weren't there at all. You quickly turn around and pull the door
open, running towards he child. At this point, you just wanted
to get rid of the thing.
You see the kid sitting in the chair, same position as you left
him. That was normal in games, right? You hand him the teddy
bear and his face lights up. But not in a way you thought it
would. The corners of his smile twist inward and his eye brows
sink, giving him a slight evil look. You look back at your
brother, seeing your younger sister there to. They were talking
until your sister pointed out the baby's face. The text box just
had three periods drifting across it. Suddenly, after a few
minutes, his face reverts back into a baby's face and he lays
down in the uncomfortable chair, pulling the teddy bear to his
       chest and mumbling.
"I'm going to take a nap. Come back when you finish the game.
Don't worry, you're almost there." His voice matured even more.
It sounded like a young boys, just before puberty. You mark it
off as bad programming and turn away, going down a hallway.
There is nothing interesting there. No monsters, no quests, no
strange stuffed animals. Boring. You go to the next hall. Same
thing. Next. Next. Next. Finally, you coming upon a hall with a
light at the end. You grin and run towards it. There is a sign
in front of a button that says 'exit'. You press the button and
the platform glows. A light shoots up. You begin to walk
forward, but are stopped by an invisible wall. A text appears in
       front of you.
       "Finish your business."
That's it. Doesn't say what business, or anything else. You
assume it was talking about the baby, as he had said to come
back when you beat the game. You trudge back down the hall, it
seeming longer than before, and look at the chair. The kid was
still asleep, still clutching the teddy bear. It would've seemed
cute if the teddy bear's eyes hadn't seemed like they were
non-stop staring at you. You walk forward and stand in front of
the baby, walking back and forth to try and activate the last
quest. Finally, you walk forward and touch the baby's shoulder.
       You immediately regret it.
The kid sits up, it's large blue haze set on you. They are also
puffy and red, along with carrying a ton of bags under them.
It's head is tipped to the side, and it's smile literally
touches both of his ears. His teeth are sharp and pointy, like a
shark's. You take a step back and the child begins to speak.
Instead of going deeper like you think it would, it went higher.
It even achieves a level of screechiness you didn't know
       existed.
"So you want to leave, huh? You want to leave?" He said, voice
growing louder. "You'll never leave! I forbid so! Never ever
ever!" He screamed, his teeth glinting. You spot his teddy bear
beside him and snatch it up. Instead of the creepy smile it had
before, it had a scared frown. It's eyes actually moved. "What?
Are you going to hit me with that? Are you planning to kill me
with that?" The baby taunts, laughing some more.
You whisper 'sorry' and start hitting the child repeatedly, full
force. The child continues to laugh as laugh, as if it was being
tickled. The teddy bear was tearing more and more with every
hit. Finally, you turn around and make a run for it, screaming
for your life. It follows you.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"
You continue to scream as you come upon the portal. It's open so
you step on, clutching the teddy bear tight. You watch as the
unnatural step of the baby runs towards you. Your heart
quickens. Your breath shortens. Your life, will it end here? It
jumps at you. It's teeth are nearly around your entire face.
       You disappear.
You open your eyes to see your bedroom, your little siblings and
older sister sitting on your bed, staring at you with a scared
gaze. Instead of hugging them, instead of crying, you turn to
your game system and force it to spit out the game. You break
the game in half, then again in quarters. You go to the bathroom
and flush all the pieces down the toilet. You go back to your
room, a group of arms wrap around you and embrace you for a hug.
You sigh and let some years fall. You're home.
Your bed room door is knocked. Everyone separates to see your
       mother and father. They're grinning.
"It's so cute to see you guys hugging." Your mother gushes. "Oh!
We have good news for you guys! I'm having a boy!" She says,
pointing to her stomach. You remember that your family agreed on
       this child being the last.
"I hope he has your eyes." Your father said, caressing your
mother's face. Her blue eyes twinkle.
"I hope he gets your messy hair." Your mother hopes, ruffling
your father's blonde head. She turns to you. "Is that for the
baby?" She asked curiously. You raise an eyebrow and look down
       at your hands.
The teddy bear. It was sitting in your hands the whole time.
Your eyes widen a bit and you begin to shake, the image of the
baby seared into your mind. Tears begin to slip out of your eyes
as you slide to the floor and go into a shock of sorts. Everyone
begins to panic around you as your world swirls. You pass out
       without any explanation.
And that's how your day ends.
