Innocence sat in the background as her brother walked up to the
announcement rock. She was close to being in tears.
"Everyone, gather!" he called. Without waiting, he continued.
"The no good leader of yours -" he never liked Flickeringstar.
Remember? "and the mate of my sister has gone missing. He has
been gone for far to long, and it is hard to continue life
without an instructor. Do not worry, I and my sister will not
become leaders. I am fine with my position, and this position
goes to someone else rightfully. My nephew, otherknown as your
heir." he paused.
"Firework, you are still young, this is true, but you are
trusted and have been under the leader's wing for quite a while.
I believe you can take this position up with ease." he motioned
to the spot next to him. [b]"Now come up here and accept your
position."

Firework wasn't surprised. He knew this would be where he ended
up eventually, he just didn't expect ti to happen so soon. After
a few seconds, the young warrior got to his paws, making his way
over and taking his place beside his uncle. Then he quickly
began to think. What was he supposed to say? Was he supposed to
say anything at all?

Well shucks. Flappypaw did admit that SerpentClan's leader had
been highly inactive, but he had liked the tiger leader. Oh
well, things changed and you couldn't quite stop that. "Woo,
Firework!" he cheered, paying little attention to the demotion.
He wanted to stay happy!

Firework opened his mouth to say something, then closed it. He
really should think about it for a while. After a long moment of
thought, he looked to the apprentice and asked, "Flappypaw. Will
you be my heir?"

"I, uh, sure!" the golden tabby responded, clearly not prepared
for those words. "Thank you, Firework!" His face lit up in a
toothy smile and he stood up proudly.

Balloonpaw hurried towards camp, her hazel-yellow eyes wide.
Shoot! She was late to the meeting, and sh had no idea what was
going on. The calico slowly stepped into camp and looked around,
puzzled.
