Mazey stretched, emerging out of her den and walking to the
fresh-kill pile. She was growing tired, but relieved that her
kits were older and didn't spend so much time in the nursery as
much as they did before. But whenever Mazedpaw thought about her
kits getting older and growing up into the world, she felt a sad
feeling that she would miss them. She also wondered if Pheo was
still mad with her. The last thing she wanted was to be yelled
at by her friend, and her mentor. But the first thing on her
list was to talk to her, hoping to share support and get support
back. She loved having her friend by her side.

Pheo walked into camp with a small mouse in her jaws, tail
swishing happily. She caught something! She actually caught
something! It excited the medicine cat that she could do
something other than find herbs. She dropped the mouse on the
fresh kill pile and grinned.

Mazedpaw looked over her shoulder, seeing Pheo coming into camp
with a mouse. It didn't amaze her too much that her mentor has
caught something, beings Mazey thought she was capable of
anything, but she smiled anyway and bounded over. "Hi Pheo!" She
greeted happily, looking up slightly to see her mentor. She
didn't remember the last time she compared her height to her
mentor. But at this moment Mazey seemed pretty tall, almost
Pheo's height.

"Oh, Mazey. How are your kits?" she asked, still smiling. The
female was still irritated with her apprentice. Just the fact
alone that she wound up getting r.ped irritated her. She, Pheo,
had gone through her entire apprenticeship without being r.ped
once. Her litter was towards the end, and with someone she
loved. Mazey was only a week or two into her apprenticeship and
got r.ped. Sometimes, she thought that her apprentice wanted to
be r.ped.

"They're doing great. Its kinda a relief that they can eat small
prey and can leave the nursery now." Mazey replied, shaking out
her fur. She was tired, but she was happy that she could begin
to get back to her duties.

Pheo nodded. "That's good. Hallowskit and Downkit should be
leaving the nursery soon. They're almost six months."
