Chris was deep asleep, her body curled up while her belly was
beginning to bulge. The she-cat was dreaming, obviously, but of
what she couldn't make out. The voices were muffled, the figures
were blurred. What she could make out were screams - terrible
screams of pain. She could only guess that the figures were
cats, staring down at her as she screamed. Not caring if she was
hurting or not. One large figure strode up to her, and lashed
down at her. At that point, she felt she was falling.
Continuously falling. When she finally hit the floor, she awoke,
head raised. Her eyes were wide until she calmed down and stood,
leaving her den. She slowly walked towards the fresh kill pile.

Skai was sitting by the fresh-kill pile already, eating a mouse,
then she purred in greeting to the incoming cat.

Keegan was eating a fat bird in front of his den, quietly
chomping on the prey and pretending not to notice anybody.

Alex left her post; it was not her turn to guard right now. She
went to get some prey, laying down away from everyone else.

Chris paused when she saw the two cats near the fresh kill pile.
Instead of readying herself to be an annoying brat, the female
dropped her ears and let her tail drag as she trotted closer.
She would've perked up a bit and got ready for any snazzy
comebacks if it was just the medicine cat there. But when Keegan
was only a couple of feet away near his den, and Alex was still
close by, she didn't want to take chances. The female grabbed a
small mouse and slowly walked back to the front of the nursery.

The medicine cat watched Chris with an ammused expression.
Usually the cat would start sassing her. She guessed everyone
was in a different mood lately.

Keegan glanced up at Chris, then Alex, for a small moment before
returning to his meal hungrily.
Dema pranced into the camp with a squirrel dangling from her
grinning teeth. She seemed to be the only energetic one around
here, huh? Well that sucked. The odd-eyed slave sat her butt
right next to Skai and dropped the furry thing in front of
herself to eat. "It's too quiet here," she complained.

"Maybe some people like the silence." Chris countered quietly,
taking a bite from her mouse.

Alex glanced over at Keegan, then looked back at her finished
meal. She disposed of the remains and laid back down.

Dema spun her head around to look at Chris, ears flattened
against her head. "Doesn't make it right," she snapped.
