Gunshot sat in one corner, carefully grooming his fur. Rasping
his tongue over the rusty colored fur of his back, the one eyed
tom felt himself fall into a gentle relaxation. Calmly finishing
up, the feline stretched, letting his muscles loosen up, and
stood. He debated where to go, whether to wander outside or go
back to the medicine cat den. Wander, he chose.
Slowly padding out, the yellow eyed medicine cat apprentice
allowed himself a moment to stop and gaze at the blossoming
trees. They were very nice, a rather beautiful sight. A smile
slipping over his maw, he started winding is way over an
invisible path.

It was a fine morning. On lovely beginnings of the day like
this, he took a nice, long run that allowed him to bask in the
glow of the sun, be drowned in the humid air, see many leafy
beauties and feel the moist soil under his paws. The little
things in life, as some cats call the. That's what he loved most
of all. Well, actually, second of all. His sister was first.

Gunshot adored the scent of newleaf. It meant the trees were
regrowing, the world reviving. It was reassuring to see that
leaf-bare hadn't killed everything off, that nothing had
changed. Sniffing at the air, trying to find that amazing smell,
the tom was dismayed to scent another cat. No doubt someone who
would trample the precious flowers, get in his way.

As Hysteria continued over expanses of land, he too scented the
precious of another cat. Skidding to a halt, he quickly skimmed
his amber eyes over the distance, surveying to see where the cat
was.

Gunshot slowly headed toward the other cat. Maybe he could
convince them to go away.

Hysteria squinted a bit, trying to make out who the lumbering
figure towards him was.

The wiry tom squinted, trying to make out the other cat. No one
seemed to realize how lucky they were to have both eyes. Loping
closer, Gunshot recognized the tom as Hysteria, his mentor's
brother. "Hello," his voice was a soft whisper.

At first sight, Hysteria didn't recognize Gunshot. But after a
few more seconds, he realized that he was the medicine cat's
apprentice, or in other words, his younger sister's apprentice.
After the younger tom had said hello to him, he too dipped his
head in a greeting.

It would be very rude to ask him to go away. It wasn't like the
older cat was doing anything wrong. Cracking open his maw,
Gunshot cast his gaze around for something to talk about. "The
flowers. They're very nice."

Hysteria blinked his amber eyes for a second, a little surprised
by the sudden comment, bu then nodding his head in agreement.
"Yes. They're nice."
