her dreams give her wings { private }

Angelic had thought long and hard about this. About the
festival, Toothpaw, and her feelings for him. She wondered,
would he accept her invitation to the festival? Would he take it
as her asking him out on a date? Well, technically, she was. But
didn't that mean she had feelings for him? Did she? The female
gritted her teeth, angry that she couldn't sort her thoughts.
Well, you know what? She did. She had a crush on the tom. And
she would admit it, too. I mean, it was just a crush. It wasn't
like she was giving everything away to him. What if she did end
up like the other girls, and forced him to be mates with her?
What if, down the line of that, she found someone she really did
love? Exactly why this was just a crush.
The white and gray femme sniffed the air and raced ahead,
heading closer and closer to DevilClan. Her blue eyes were
narrowed until she came to the border. Then another thought
crossed her mind. She was lucky the last time she came here,
able to find him so quickly. Would she have that luck again?
Probably not. Angelic looked around before diving deeper into
the territory.
She didn't know what was fueling her to hurry up and go faster,
to find him quicker. To hear his voice and be in his presence
again... Wait, slow down, Angie. Its just your little crush
talking. Though your little crush and pushing you closer and
closer to his camp, where you could get in severe trouble.
Finally, the femme found the camp, and sniffed around. What if
he wasn't here? What if she came all this way for nothing?
Anxiety prickled her again before she sighed and let out all
pent up nervousness. If anything, Toothpaw would let her down
nicely. He was a good tom, and couldn't hurt her, even if he
tried. A smile found its way onto the girl's face as she
hush-called for him.
[b]"Toothpaw?!"

Reluctantly, Toothpaw found himself dining on a couple mice with
Emberpaw. At least his bossy sister wasn't around to ruin his
appetite. Emberpaw was actually fun to be around when he was
constantly teasing and fighting with their oldest sibling, so
maybe it was better than being alone.
As they munched and crunched, they both her a sharp whisper. The
two toms' ears perked up at the sound, and a smile stretched on
Emberpaw's maw. "I think it's your girlfriend," he murmured.
Toothpaw gave his brother a sharp cuff on the ear and a push
with his paw. "Get out of here," he breathed. Emberpaw, still
smirking, turned, snatched both of the mice, and headed off to
find some "lucky" she-cat to eat with.
Toothpaw slicked down his ruffled striped fur before slipped out
of camp to where Angelic was waiting. Just at the sight of her
smile, a surprised grin with one odd canine leaped onto his
face. "Angie, it is you!" he purred, reaching over to give her
nose a friendly touch with his. "What are you doing here? Is
everything alright?" he meowed with the usual concern he had
when they met in each others territories. He always wanted to
make sure nothing was wrong, because if there was, he wanted to
comfort her. But he was hopeful that she was here for positive
reasons, with the cute little smile on her face and all.

Angelic giggled and allowed her nose to touch his, tail
swishing. She gave a swift nod. "Everything is fine." the female
mewed, picking up her paw and giving it a nervous lick. She
wanted to ask him now, get the question over with. But what if
she stumbled on her words? What if they get caught? What if...
flying cows come and shoot lazers at them? Sure, the last one is
a bit far fetched, but what if it did happen? Should she put it
off? Flicking her ear, the SerpentClan apprentice slowly made a
decision.
"Actually... I wanted to ask something. So, my leader,
Flickeringstar, decided to attempt at reviving our Clan by
starting a festival. The festival isn't exactly planned out yet,
or anything. But, when it is here, would you mind... uhm..." a
bit of blush rested on her cheeks. "I wanted to know if...
uhh.... Could you... Be my..." what should I say? Date? Nah,
that would be rushing things. Friend? No. No friendzoning... she
quickly realized that she had stalled a bit.
"Date? Will you be my date to the festival?" she asked, ears
burning with embarrassment. She really wanted to be asked, not
to ask. But, hey, can't blame him. She just found out about the
festival a few days ago. "Or, if you're a type of guy with a
reputation, I could be your date?" she lowered her head
slightly, trying to hide her blush.

Toothpaw smiled, relieved. Everything is fine..Good! He rolled
his shoulders back and sat down, perking his ears up to catch
every word. As she explained and prepared for the main question,
and main reason she was here, the brown tabby tom listened
attentively. So much that his little heart quickly started
pounding. Was she..asking him out? Well, he did ask her to the
formal, but that was different. They thought of each other more
as friends, and even though he did have a huge crush on her, he
wasn't so sure that Angelic returned the same feelings.
The dark-striped apprentice felt the heat rise the his cheeks
and ears as she spoke and stuttered and blushed. Did she like
him? And why was she always so adorable? Everything she did just
caused him to like her more and more. A big smile stretched his
maw and blush covered his face, which was, fortunately, hidden
by his dark, earthy brown tabby fur.
When she finished, Toothpaw nodded eagerly with a wide grin on
his face. "What reputation?" he purred joyously. "Of course I
will!" Without really thinking, the young apprentice gave her
soft cheek a little nuzzle. After he had realized what he did,
he stepped back shyly, forcing his yellow orbs to stay focused
on her beautiful blue ones.

Angelic was a bit surprised by his reaction, though relieved.
She let out a small breath of air she had been holding in and
smiled a bit more. When he pulled away from nuzzling her, she
attempted to return the gesture by giving his nose a little
lick. "Really?" asked the she-cat, just to say the word and be
sure she heard right.
[b]"I'm so excited, then! I was afraid you were going to turn me
down, or something."

Toothpaw felt a wave a energy rush through him at her touch.
"Turn you down? I don't think that's possible," he purred,
standing up to stretch his stiffened legs. He glanced back over
at her beautiful smile. "I can't wait, he grinned. "Do you know
when it starts?"

Angelic flicked her tail, blush visible on her cheeks. "Well, I
know its soon. With my brother on duty, it should go along
pretty fast. I'm thinking of helping, too. With decorations and
stuff." the female puffed out her chest. She then giggled and
let out all the air. [b]"But, yeah. Soon. Would you like me to
come all the way here to get you? Or would you rather come to my
Clan instead?"

Toothpaw, swaying his dark-striped tail back and forth,
explained with a soft grin, "Nah, that's okay. I can walk
myself. I don't want to risk you getting caught near camp.
Hissingstar isn't really the nicest guy, so I don't know how
he'll react."

Angelic paused before nodding. She sort of forgot that DevilClan
was lead by a former r.pist, not some nice cat. The female
flicked the tip of her tail, "Oh, I kind of forgot about him..."
she giggled. "But are you sure? Its a really far walk to go
alone..." she didn't mention the fact that she took that walk a
few times now just to see him.

Toothpaw thought for a moment, not really sure now. It would be
nice to take the walk with Angelic, to break the ice before they
arrived at the festival. Then again, she would be taking the
trip as well when she came to pick him up. And oh no...Emberpaw
and Floatingpaw. Unless he tiptoed out, they'd probably follow
him all the way there. "Actually, the festival is at
SerpentClan, right? Why don't we try meeting at the gathering
place? Then we can walk together from there, and neither of us
have to go too long alone," he purred. He'd have o figure out
how to get rid of his siblings though.
