young flippaw had finally someone to babysit her two kits, so
she was out on a walk. god, the nursery was noisy! yes, she
loved her kittens, but it was just so noisy in there. and
jinxkit kept waking her up in the middle of the night . . . ugh.
and she had to keep reminding herself that bluepaw would become
mates with greekpaw, not her. and it sucked. but bluepaw didn't
want her. he deserved better then her. sighing, she sat down by
a stream.

Slowly, Bluepaw was growing more confident in himself, and he
was starting to actually work on his training whether he had a
mentor or not. He sat in front of the stream with one claw ready
to snatch of fish out of the water.
So he tried and he tried, but with no luck so far. Well, he
caught a couple, but they were so tiny it wouldn't even fill
kitten's belly. He sighed and stood up to wander along the
miniature river with his worthless catch in his jaws. As he
walked, he spotted Flippaw and his eyes lit up. She always made
him feel better, and she looked lonely.
"Hey," he meowed quietly, taking a seat beside her. "You okay?"

there was the father of her kits. her crush. "oh, i'm fine. just
a bit tired - you know, raising kits can be tiring," she said
with a soft smile. did he care about her as more than a friend?
peobably not. he had greekpaw. "how are you and greek?" she
asked slyly.

"I can help with the kits if you- Bluepaw began, but interrupted
himself when he realized what she said in her last sentence. His
light blue eyes widened and he choked for words. "I-I- uh..what?
What are you talking about?" he stammered, nervously flicking
his tail back and forth. He really didn't know how to react. He
liked both of them!

she blinked innocently. "i thought you two were lovers?" she
said, but then shrugged and waved her paw to say they were
moving to a different subject. "anyways, help would be great!
jinxkit's such a pawful, always getting into trouble. and he
looks a lot like his daddy!" she purred, giving him a nudge.

Lovers? Bluepaw liked Greekpaw, but he liked Flippaw too. did
Flippaw not like him? Ugh, so confusing. Girls made everything
so complicated, yet they were the ones who saved him from his
catnip addiction.
Bluepaw, trying to push away the awkward moment, moved on to the
new topic. He smiled, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. He
wasn't sure why though. "What is that supposed to mean? I
wasn't...that bad," he smiled shyly, glancing down at his paws.
He never really caused that much trouble back then. Just until
he met catnip, then everything went downhill.
"And Strawberrykit looks a lot like her mother," he added,
looking back up at her face and smiling.

Poo. He was so bad at compliments. And talking. And dawny didn't
have any muse either. "Yeah, I do think so," he replied, a
little embarrassed, but still smiling happily. "She has your
smile, and I bet that they'll both end up with your smarts," he
purred quietly, but flattened his ears in wait for another
tease. Boy, he was talkative today.

putting on a brilliant smile, she rubbed her muzzle against his
cheek fondly. aw! how sweet of him! "and i'm sure they'll get
your kindness," she commented happily, then tilted her head to
one side. "wanna do something?"

muzzle against him, blush resting on his cheeks. "Sure," he
meowed back, smiling.
