She couldn't help but giggle at this. It was obvious that Terezi
was tired. "Well alright then." She was going to slow down
though. Right after they got across the creek of course. Nepeta
paced up the bank, looking for a narrower part for crossing. It
only took a few minutes to find one. It had a bit of a drop to
it but it wasn't far and it was only a few feet across. Getting
a good start, Nepeta just jumped right over the water, not
wanting to deal with going through it. Water was evil as far as
she was concerned. She landed on the far bank with nothing more
than a light thud. Was she showing off? Maybe just a little. But
what was the harm in that?

Terezi skidded to a halt at the narrow pass and huffed. "Well,
sh.t." She backed up and pictured a dragon wanted by the law was
on the other side. "HALT YOU ADOLECENT DRAGON." She ran straight
forward and landed into the water, getting soaked. She sputtered
and clawed her way to the bank and growled slightly. But, she
made it without drowning, so it was fine. She stood up and used
her finger to examine the condition of her clothes before
shrugging and looking back at Nepeta.

Seeing Terezi flounder through the water earned her a bout of
hysterical laughter from Nepeta. She didn't mean to, it was just
too funny. Wasn't Terezi training to be a legilansilator? She
should be better than that. Oh well. Maybe it was just the
terrain. "I'm sorry." She wheezed. "That was hilarious. You look
like a drowned lusus." Oh gosh that was just too funny. It felt
like her sides were going to split open.

Terezi made her eyes appear unamused, but really on the inside,
she was laughing, too.
[sorry, no muse right now after waking up D8]

Nepeta had managed to reign her laughter into light giggles. She
knew her friend wasn't mad, even though she might have been
trying to look it. She knew her too well. "Let's go. It's not
far from here, now." Terezi should dry off while they were
walking, it wasn't as though it was cold outside, and if she
didn't, Nepeta could light a fire when they were back at the
cave. She started walking through the undergrowth again, this
time not shooting off like a meowbeast from a barkfiend. She
really needed to work on her hosting skills. Maybe that was why
Equius didn't want her to invite friends ofur.

Terezi smiled and began following Nepeta once again, running
with her. She hoped they were almost there. She was getting sort
of tired. But, at least it wasn't cold outside, so she wouldn't
get sick even though she was soaked. It didn't matter. A little
slip for laughs was fine every once and a while. The teal blood
turned her smile into a grin and hummed quietly as she followed.

In Nepeta's mind they were almost there. What that really meant
was that they had a few miles before they'd get back to the
cave. They would get there around lunch time. She kept a steady
pace as they trekked through the forest, nothing more that a
brisk walk. That should have been fine. And of course, she
picked up on Terezi's humming. "What are you humming?" She
inquired curiously.

"A little song that i sing whenever I hang the guilty," She
explained with a shrug, seeming to explain everything in that
little fragment.

Nepeta glanced at her friend. She never would have thought that
Terezi would do that. That was almost like what a subjugulator
would do and they were insane. Then again, she did just hang
scalemates so she guessed it wasn't too bad. Terezi would
probably grow out of it. Hopefully. The foliage ahead of them
moved and Nepeta tensed. Something was here and it probably
wasn't friendly.

"HOLY SH.T." Terezi was yell-whispering. "Nep, what the hell was
that?" The teal blood hid behind her friend. She didn't bring
her d.mn weapon! Well, at least Nep had her claws, and Terezi
had her teeth.
