Gunshot made his way to the center of the camp, the place where
he thought most cats would be gathered. The red feline knew that
he was sorely in need of battle training - he had had trouble
even before losing his eye - and thought others might also need
practice. Opening his crimson colored maw, the tom made sure
that his voice was high enough to carry. "Come here guys. Let's
practice our fighting."

She disapproved of this. Gunshot was a medicine cat apprentice,
not a fighter. Yet the she-cat didn't do anything against it. He
would talk sternly to him later. The small, spotted she-cat
leaned back and sat down, waiting for someone to slip up and
need help.

Gunshot nodded a greeting at all the cats. He noticed Night a
little further away and wondered why she didn't join in. Yes,
she was the medicine cat, but a healer needed some fighting
skills. What if someone tried to raid her den? If she was
attacked? She couldn't count on someone always being there to
help. Still, she must know enough. If the black she-cat didn't
want to train, it was no business of his. Running a yellow eye
over the cats, he turned to Neptune. "You're a fighter more then
me. Who do you think would be best as partners? Give the most
challenge." He himself had a small idea, but other cat might
know better.
