i'm kind of over getting told ( private, rae ) to throw my hands
up in the air

[sup]The silver tabby had been much more bubbly than usual. For
starters, she was actually smiling again. Maybe she'd finally
forgotten Emptypromises, or maybe she'd just gotten over him.
either way, she had a new love now, one who might be worth more
than the deceased brown tabby. He was equally handsome,
adorkably awkward, and probably wouldn't be as stressful to
crush on. Last time she'd checked, Roanoke wasn't haunted by
crazy demons or mates with her best friend.
Streamflow sat by RainClan's new main river. She stared into the
clear water's depths, watching the swirling current, but she was
barely aware of that. Right now the RainClan medic was in
daydream mode, and she wouldn't come out of it until someone or
something brought her into reality by saying her name or
something.

Roanoke didn't exactly know what he felt for Streamflow, as he
never felt the feeling before. All he knew was that he got
butterflies in his stomach when she spoke out her mind, felt
that he should comfort her when shes down, and he couldn't help
but smile when she did. Was this all the start of a
relationship? Or was he a lovesick kitten? Nah. Never.
The dark colored tom just caught a large cardinal, the feathers
going everywhere, when he spotted the she-cat. Should he
approach? Should he leave? ... wait, he was the guy of the two,
why was he getting nervous? Man, he needed to man-up. Trotting
over, the formal tom stopped beside her and put on a modest
smile, although it was covered by the bird held in his jaws.
"Hey, Stream."

[sup]At first the she-cat didn't respond, still stuck on her own
little world. But she'd heard the greeting in the back of her
mind, and when it sudden dawned on her that someone was talking
to her she sprung up and turned around to say hello back. Great
going, Streamflow. Way to show him you're a complete weirdo. The
medic tried covering up her late response and the blush riding
to her cheeks by grinning cheerfully.
"Hi, Roa!" the silver tabby mewed, trying out the nickname. She
wasn't sure if he would approve, but she liked being creative
and quirky like that. "Nice catch you got there." The bright
colors were very pleasing to the medic, and they accented her
crush' fur and eyes beautifully.

"Thanks." Roanoke chuckled and put the bird down. A few feathers
stuck to his muzzle and, obviously, tickled his nose. He let out
a tiny sneeze, and the three or four feathers on his face had
disappeared. He took a moment to glance around and make sure he
wasn't dead or anything. Once assured of that, he smiled again.
"I just wish they weren't so feathery."

"Yeah, me too," she mewed, sighing. "They always get stuck up my
nose." She snorted. Feathers in her nose. Real attractive. Oh
poo, now what would he think of her? That she was a gross
weirdo? Attempting to divert the subject away from nostril
feathers, the medic mewed, "But they're really tasty.."

Roanoke chuckled quietly, tail swishing behind him. He found her
adorable and cute in almost everything she did. "Its nice to
know we have something in common." He commented to her, smiling
in hopes to get that sweet smile back. "And yeah, I guess
they're tasty. But, to be honest, I prefer mice and fish over
birds, both to hunt and eat."

She grinned shyly and looked to the ground. "Cool," the medic
mewed quietly.

Roanoke rubbed the dirt under his paw, finding the short silence
awkward. "So, what are you doing out here?" He asked casually.

"Oh, um, just thinking. About stuff." She twitched an ear
casually, glancing to the side to look at a plant. She'd just
now realized how awkward talking to a tom one on one was;
usually when she had conversations with them, there were at
least one or two other cats there. Now, the medic felt pressured
to keep talking and make sure Roa didn't get bored. "How about
you?"

Roanoke let out a silent sigh when she looked away, already
missing her sparkling eyes. Woah, slow down there, Roa. This is
your first real conversation with her. There's no need to be all
sappy. The tom shook the thoughts out of his head and listened
to her question. A chuckle soon left his maw. "Well, I was
hunting, if that wasn't to obvious." He motioned to the bird.
