Polarpaw shuffled his paws anxiously while scanning his blank
blue stare over the camp grounds. The winter formal was coming
up and, well, he was looking for a certain someone. Normally,
Polarpaw didn't want anything to do with girls or crushes or
dates or anything like that, but...he was lonely. His mother was
gone, either dead or missing, and nobody was there to fill that
void in his heart. Sure, he had siblings, but they weren't very
close.
Anyway, besides the fact that he was a depressed, a new
FrozenClanner had caught his eye one day, and he was hoping to
ask her to the dance. Fluffy, a cool, calm, and quite beautiful
she-cat. She didn't seem to care what others said about her,
even if she was a former kittypet, which was something Polarpaw
respected. He kept out the bad stuff and took in the good stuff,
but he didn't brag and wasn't at all hyper or jumpy. But he was
still nervous about meeting her. They had never talked before,
and she might not even know who he was, but he had to give it a
shot.

Fluffy was just simply sitting around, after hearing about the
winter formal, the she-cat was looking for someone to go with.
But deep down, she had a feeling that being a former kittypet
and all, nobody would want to go with her. She curled her fluffy
white tail around her paws.

Polarpaw soon spotted Fluffy and he took a deep breath before
heading over, butterflies flooding his stomach. "Er, hello."

Fluffy glanced back at Polarpaw, a the corners of her mouth
curving up in a smile. "Hey." She greeted back.

Polarpaw desperately searched for words, nervously flicking his
thick, fluffy tail to the side. "Um, Fluffy, right?" He tried to
sound casual, but it might've sounded especially awkward in his
deepish voice. "I'm Polarpaw." Ugh, this was not his thing.
Talking. He hated it, or more likely, he hated being so bad at
it.

Polarpaw nodded, "Y-you too." The completely white tom
apprentice took a deep breath, staring down at the ground for a
few moments and then locking his eyes with Fluffy. "So...um..I
wanted to ask you something," he began. "Would you like to...go
to the formal with me?"
