Aiden blinked slowly. Friends? How could he maintain a
friendship? "Uh... sure. But since we're going to be friends,
then shouldn't we know the other's name?" He asked after making
the small decision. "Mine's Aiden."

"Downkit?" He let the memory of her name sink in for a bit.
"Your name is kind of funny. Why does it have 'kit' at the end?"
He never got to ask these questions at home, as they were
kitlike and stupid.

She frowned. Did he think she had a dumb name? "Um," she mewed,
her voice significantly quieter. "Because I'm a kitten. All the
kits have it at the end of their names. And then apprentices
have 'paw,' and warriors get their own special name."

"Only a few cats in my Clan have names like that. But my father
and mother don't, so I guess that's why I don't have one. But I
wish I did. Its sounds better than 'Aiden'." He murmured towards
the end, kicking a rock.
