The tan-colored tabby stood at the border, awaiting someone to
accept him into the clan. His mother, well, the lion that acted
as his mother, had told him stories of the cat clans, and he'd
wanted to join one his entire life. But there hadn't been any
near where he lived. Now it seemed as if his dream was finally
coming true, as he'd noticed talk around the neighborhood about
several groups moving in close to here. The tom shook out his
fur and put on a smile, wanting to show his good side to whoever
came to see what he was doing. He hoped they'd accept him!

Balloonpaw kicked a pebble around the territory, a small smile
of amusement planted on her beautiful round face. Her short legs
took their time as they lightly pushed the little hopping rock,
but came to an immediate stop when an interesting scent entered
her nostril. She cautiously headed towards him with narrowed
orbs, and even though she was normally shy and tense around
newcomers, the friendly smile she spotted on his face kind of
relaxed her. "Erm, hi?" she meowed uncertainly in a slightly
defensive posture. Once she noticed how she was acting, as a
less dominate one, she quickly corrected herself and stood up
straight and as tall as she could but...she was short. "I mean,
who are you?" she tried changed her tone to be more stern. She
wasn't really sure how to react, I mean, he barely looked like a
threat.

Firework had been watching Balloonpaw when he heard her begin to
speak. To him, she didn't seem like the type to be a leader, but
that was what he was training for, wasn't it? Maybe he could do
this! The tom waited until she finished speaking before walking
over, ears pricked forward slightly, alert. "Where do you come
from?" asked the tom, eyes narrowed slightly in observation.
"You shouldn't be here. This area is the territory of
SerpentClan."

"Hi!" The light brown cat smiled warmly at Balloonpaw. "I'm
Fla--" ugh, his name was kind if embarrassing. But there was no
taking it back now. "Excuse me.. Flappy. I'd like to join."
Noticing the second cat, Flappy dipped his head respectfully; he
seemed to be one of the higher ups around here. "I'm sorry," he
mewed, lowering his tone. His bright green eyes lit up and a
smile crept onto his face as he mewed, "At least I waited at the
border. I'm here to join." The last few words were rather soft
and unsure. He hoped they wouldn't send him away!

Angelic had followed her brother out of camp, to watch him
practice hunt and fight, and practice not being seen herself.
When he walked towards the newcomer, she couldn't help but feel
a little scared. Maybe the fear she should've had when she was
sneaking around was showing up now? Oh. That wasn't good. So the
little white and gray thing padded out of her hiding spot and
slipped herself between Baloonpaw and Firework, gaze to the
ground.

He looked to Angelic for a moment when she came over and flicked
his ear to show he knew she was there. When Flappy spoke,
Firework listened and tried to decide. They did need some more
warriors, he kenw, and surely Flickeringstar would agree. So he
decided, "Alright."

Balloonpaw felt a little embarrassed when Firework came up and
easily took over the confrontation, letting her head sag down
slightly. She knew she was terrible at this and it was his job
to accept cats in, but she couldn't help but feel a little
useless. However, the small sweet smile shaped her face again
and her ears pricked up to the cheery voice of the tom. His
innocent and positive attitude kind of made her feel warm
inside, which was something unusual for her to find in
SerpentClan. Well, until Angelic appeared. She gave the little
one a soft smile before glancing back at the joyful newcomer.

Angelic pressed herself against her half-sister. She did this
because she was afraid to be pushed away by her brother. She
knew one thing- he was getting older. And sure, she and
Balloonpaw was too. But Firework was male, and they tended to
harden and back away from loved ones to start their own
families. All the while Balloonpaw always had that motherly
sense (at least, Angelic thought she did) and wouldn't scold her
if she knew she wasn't really doing anything wrong.
She looked up at the new cat and put on a simple smile before
dipping her head.

Awkward silence. Then Flappy decided to pipe up again. "So..
what now?" the tabby asked. Surely the clan cats didn't just
stand around all day. If they did, well, it was a waste of his
time to come here. Flappy came for the adventure, the company.
He'd feel a sense of purpose here.
