i see a little silhouetto of a man-- joining

A small deer-like animal walked along, looking around. He was a
saola. Two black horns protruded from the back of his head. They
were just stubs at the time, but would grow as he grew and would
become his way of defending himself. His fur was a reddish-brown
with white markings. His eyes were a dark brown and at the
moment, he was scared to death. His name was Silhouette, a name
given to him when he was born. He was six months old, and his
mother had died, leaving him alone. That was, until he met
someone like him; an Amur leopard, the same age as him. She was
one of the few left of her kind, like him. And she was somewhere
she didn't recognize, like him. Her name was Universe. She had
yellowish-red fur with a golden tinge. Black rosettes covered
her fur with the fur inside of them a brownish color. Her eyes
were a bright blue-green color. The two of them were like
brother and sister, and they were looking for somewhere to live.
Two young things like them? On their own, they wouldn't survive
long. Universe and Silhouette waited patiently for someone to
come along.

Sandman made his way through the snow at the edge of the
territory. He did this often and enjoyed the alone time. His
siblings could be very rambunctious while he was not. Though, he
wasn't much of a fan of the cold white stuff, currently sticking
to his golden fur. That, he could do without. The splotch of
brighter colors caught his attention. What was this? He picked
his way out of the little group of trees that hidden him from
their view. It was a deer thing and a cat much larger than
himself. What an interesting pair. He approach quickly, almost
having to jump to get through the snow. Sometimes it really
sucked to be small. All the same, he didn't complain. Coming to
a stop before them, he glanced between the two, smiling at them
warmly. He tilted his head to the side, dropping the smile and
replacing it with a look of curiosity. This was his own way of
asking what they were doing here.

Silhouette shied away when the cat showed up, getting defensive.
When he pulled back to stand behind Universe, he mumbled
something to her. She nodded and then told Sandman, "I'm
Universe. He's Silhouette. We're looking for a place to live."
Frowning slightly, she asked softly, "Could we stay here?"

Sandy gave a perplexed look into the snow. He really couldn't
answer them. He didn't really have the authority to tell them
yes or no. So he gave a shrug and motioned for them to follow
him before heading back across the snow towards the camp.
Hopefully a higher ranking member would show up before they
arrived there.

Universe nudged the saola and then trotted after the cat, trying
not to be clumsy as she usually was. Silhouette hesitated before
he slowly followed her, glancing around nervously as if checking
for something.

Icestar was patrolling the territory, as usual. It was something
he often found himself doing, half because it was just who he
was: he wanted make sure everything was safe and sound at the
edges of his land, and then half because his experts weren't
doing their job very well at all despite his threats to demote
them. And now that he scented some newcomers, he was not happy.
A soft growl of irritation echoed in his throat as he approached
the three with a cold red stare. "Let me guess, you two want to
join?" he inquired, impatiently pricking his two tufted ears up
for an answer.

Rory trotted over with a small yawn. "Hello," she greeted her
Clanmates. "Also hello," she mewed, dipping her head in greeting
to the joiners.

"We could use more cats." The export mewed. Maybloom came into
the spot where they were. "I say we could let them join.
Icestar?"

Icestar didn't take long to decide. He figured they would make
good additions to the Clan, especially when grown. He wasn't
sure how long they would survive in the cold, but this territory
wasn't as harsh as the old one, so they'd probably do fine
anyway. "Alright then. Maybloom and everyone else can lead them
back to camp, and make sure they get something to eat," he
ordered. "I'm going to finish my patrol." And just like that,
the long-furred albino turned and again began walking along the
path he always took to examine the borders.
